Having a bad week....blah!

So, this week has been pretty bad....started off on Saturday doing a good deed for a friend and wound up breaking my baby toe on her vacuum cleaner (I know, retarded...and I likely couldn't do it again to save my life! lol). Then, on Sunday I noticed that my eyes were itchy, watery, and bloodshot. Went to the clinic on Monday and found out I have an infection in both eyes (I don't do anything half assed!!!). And now, it seems I have a Bartholin's cyst in my labia...at least that's what I'm hoping it is.

I'm falling to pieces it seems...lol

So how is everyone else's week going??

Oh, Cindy! I'm so sorry! Hopefully the toe heals fast and your eyes too....

As for the Bartholin's - RUN don't walk to your gyno and get that taken care of! I had one last summer and m&$*#$ f*@#$^ was that some crazy pain! Have you ever had one before? I had never heard of it, but the gyn said it's very common.

Hope you are better head to toe very soon!!!

Wow Cindy, and I was thinking about you yesterday at the restaurant we went too, and boom you do this all in one week you have talent girl. Never had Bartholin's cyst but I am sure anything in that area is painful!
What are you doing to remedy the eye infections?

So you broke your baby toe. Now that takes talent. Plus you have to go to school?

I am fighting a flare been a month now but seeing the doc next Tues about seeing the new Gi.. dunno what they can possibly do! My Christmas wish.. a new body ;)

Aw, geez, Cindy, how totally sucky! I've had both a broken toe and the stupid Bartholin's cyst, but I've never thought of having them both together like you have! Ow, ow, ow!

Get yourself to the doc. And lots of sitz baths will help, too. Hopefully, it drains and is on its way in no time!

:hang:Oh good God Cindy! Wow you really went all out, poor thing! Listen to Ames RUN to the Gyno-they can put you to sleep and lance that Bartholin's cyst, geez don't wait for it to break at home! You could get a terrible infection, you really need antibiotics, especially since you already have an infection in your eyes.

As for my week, it looks all rainbows and unicorns compared to yours-hope you're on the road to recovery soon-and have some alcohol, please!!!

Cindy, :worthy:
You are soooo not having anything else happen! The bartho cyst is the worst. I seem to be prone to them myself.

I have to say it sounds like you are getting a bit run down and your body might be telling you something??

Take care of yourself and get well soon!

Thanks for the support guys! I guess with school and this stupid insomnia I've been having, I may be a little run down.

But good news on the bartho cyst...it popped last night...I know, gross...but it feels better :)

Now if the rest of me would just catch up, that would be great...lol

So sorry to hear you had/are having such a crappy week, but I definitely hear you on the cyst. When I first strated developing these 'sores' around my labia and groin and such, that is what doctors were thinking they were, but after many years pathology reports came back negative for something as simple as cysts... "watering can fistulas" is what a couple of specialists have said - micro fistulas that come to the surface of the skin but take a few days to actually break through the surface and drain - Metastatic CD is what they are calling it now - I dunno. Three weeks of steroids have finally made sitting a little more possible - but yes, after fighting with whatever the hell they are for over five years, and having multiples of them at a time (some instances up to five or six swollen areas at a time) I hear ya - and I wouldn't wish that pain on my worst enemy.....

Hugs, Girl, and take it easy on yourself. BTW, melatonin may help your insomnia a bit - helps you sleep through the night but no groggy feeling in the morning (at least that is usually how I feel) from a sleeping pill the night before. Just a thought......

Silver!!! You know, I keep hearing about us ladies having these cysts that have crohn's! I tend to get them while I'm flaring and when I'm stressed and tired. What two things go hand and hand??? Hmmmmm.

Last one, had a fistula thru the left fallopian tube, but a supposed bartho cyst right labia. Hmmmmmm.

And yes melatonin does help! (thanks Silver, I'd forgotten that!)

Okay, holy crap, your cycst burst at home??? I can't imagine! When I had mine taken care of at the hospital, the doc said it was as big as a lime! (OMG, I am grossing myself out at the thought of it).

Glad you are feeling better.... down there anyway!

Yes...I had a doozy burst at home while sitting (on my left side, cyst on right) at home once. It was the most wonderful feeling actually. It was a relief! I can only hope it was for you Cindy.

Actually, I've only once had a bartho cyst lanced. The rest have popped of their own accord. Painful as hell, debilitating in fact. Walking, sitting, driving, all are painful. Until the blessed relief of them popping. I am very worried however that they will get infected, which is a common problem.

Hugs to you Cindy! (and Ames, you gorgeous tanned goddess!)

Oh my God, you poor thing! I think I'd still let the doc look at it, just to make sure it doesn't fill up again. I've had that happen with a cyst, and the second time around is worse. Btw, the doc who took out my cyst said that these things go hand in hand with autoimmune diseases, and that you are more prone when on immune suppression therapy. I never had one til I started Methotrexate, and since then (3 years) I've had three. Wishing you a speedy recovery! :)

@Ames-As big as a lime??:yfaint: Eeeek! You are a warrior to go through that!

Ames and Cindy ARE warriors! All of us crohnies are. And YES I think these cysts are autoimmune related, you are right.

Oh god when I was about 13 my bartholin gland actually really swelled into this massive hard lump. I was so scared as I hadn't even started getting my period by then. Then I ended up getting a hole from it to the skin and every time I pee'd it used to sting so much! I ended up at the hospital and having a whole investigative surgery to see what was going on. Luckily they decided not to do anything and it went away by itself. A couple of years ago I had to back to the same gyno at the hospital as I have severe precancerous cells on my cervix and he remembered me! Guess he didn't see that many 13 year olds lol.

I wish we got a break with these intimate problems!!! Glad it's doing better though, Cindy. Not getting a decent night's sleep can have a dramatic effect on your mood too! Nope it gets better!!

I don't want to divert too much and make this a "Bartholyns" thread.... but it's interesting to me to hear others that have had this. When I had mine last year, NONE of my friends had ever heard of it, let alone had a problem, tho the gyno told me it was "very common." Seeing how many Crohnie ladies have had it, makes me think it's not just a coincidence.....

Cindy - hope you are doing much better and that this week is a happier/healthier one for you!! xo - Ames

Oh wow Cindy - So sorry all that you had to go through all that. I hope you're feeling better. Praying for you to get well soon!!

Sorry I m new to this so I may post wrongly. a lot of BCs r actually wrongly diagnosed fistula tracts. Any woman w IBD should be v careful of being dx with BC . There is a gd article on this in the Australian Stoma mag of I think last year. wil try to find it
