Help-sharp pains, no bowel movements

I'm having really bad sharp pains in my stomach, like I need to go to the bathroom so I run to the bathroom and nothing happens. I haven't had a bowel movement in probably a week and I'm also running a fever.

Was dignosed with crohns on Thursday, having a colonoscopy a week from Tuesday.

Btw my name is Lara, I'm dignosed with crohns, endrometrosis, and kidney stones. I've had 22 surgeries for kidney stones and endro, just needing some advice for this pain. Is there anything that I can take for the pain?

What was their basis for diagnosing you with Crohn's? Seems odd they would make that diagnosis before your colonoscopy.

Are you vomiting, have fever or distention in the belly? Not going to the bathroom for a week and sharp pains are not normal. Can you call and see if they can move the colonoscopy up?

They did blood work and were already planning the colonoscopy, they then moved it from a general surgeon to a GI specialist at a different hospital. Got the next available one.
Fever, nausea, swelling and pain is my syptoms right now.

I also want to point out that I have bad chronic stomach pain for years.

Also this pain is only temp. It comes and goes but when it comes its only getting worse.

You need to tell them about those symptoms. It can be a sign of an obstruction. Sometimes if your bowel is obstructed you don't go to the bathroom, have pain, distention and vomiting. Please call the emergency answering service or go to the ER.

I can only go based on the symptoms you are having. I don't know your body or experiences? Is it normal for you to not go to the bathroom for a week and have this kind of pain? Do you have an appetite, are you eating?

I think you should in the least call your GI's emergency answering service if they have one. If you feel safe to wait for the work week it's your call. I'm just a little worried about about a bowel obstruction but only you really know your body.

It is normal for me to not go that long but I know that it's not normal, it is not normal for me to run a temp and be in pain with it. This pain started after I ate earlier so kow I have no desire to eat.

I would definitely try to call the doctors answering service. Please don't hesitate to go to the ER to be on the safe side if pain gets worse over night. If not try to see your doctor first thing in the morning to rule out anything urgent.
