Home from the hospital - again

Badger was released today on a strict low fat diet (20 gms fat/day). Follow up labs on Thursday and again next Wednesday with follow up clinic visit/remicade next Thursday the 20th.

It was such a relief to have his lipase levels drop dramatically once he'd been off food for 3 days. He was a trooper during the 6 days he was NPO - he was't even allowed water by mouth.

Thank goodness for TPN. I can't imagine how people must have suffered with pancreatitis before they had TPN to use so patients could be NPO for extended periods.

Once his lipase levels normalize he can go back to a regular diet.

Its good to hear some positive news even with the uncertainty that may be ahead.
Perhaps things will now settle down to a more even pathway.
