Humira DoT Drug test - False Positive

LOL, I applied for a Information technology job that uses the extreme drug test (Dept of Trans.) for drug/alcohol testing. So naturally being OCD I told them what drugs I've been on and currently take. They told me to bring proof of Humira cause that will show up and ding me. Its ok for DOT and FAA for people to fly planes and drive trucks/Buses ect. Just regulated more.

Humira (adalimumab) is an injectable medication that can slow the progression of rheumatoid arthrits in adults. It is a recombinant antibody to human tissue necrosis factor - alpha that can be used in combination with other anti-rheumatoid medications. Pilots on this medication must use it for at least 30 days before applying for FAA authorization to use the Humira for rheumatoid arthritis when flying.

Why would that show up? You can't get high off of or abuse Humira. Weird.

Maybe since it can make some overly tired after injections .
My DS is wiped out for about 16 hours after the injection.
So I give it at night and he sleeps through most of the fatigue.
Otherwise I have no idea

Yeah I was dumbfounded when I heard this. Its not a scheduled drug. But the fatigue factor is what I can only guess. Even if someone wanted to abuse this drug...there really is no point. lol

Keep in mind for a regular Urine drug test Humira does not show up. Only the FAA/DOT regulated one.

I take this medication for slowing the progression of rheumatoid arthrits. I need to get this job. How did you pass the drug test? Absolutely do NOT try to circumvent the drug test! IF you get caught, you will permanently loose your ability to work in that field again as it will be on your record and once a prospective employer sees that . .you are automatically disqualified from that job. No one will hire you. Best thing to do is to DECLARE that you are PRESCRIBED that drug and the testing facility should know that it will create a false positive.
