I am a 36 year old man from British Columbia. My problems with my rear end started a long time ago although I had no idea it was a big deal. While working as a produce clerk while I was 19 years old I would frequently have a lot of cramps and urgent bathroom visits along with a very irritated anal area, so much so that I would use toothache drops to try to help the irritation. I never thought too much about it, but as I got older the problem seemed to stay. I have also had a problem with unexplained fatigue over the years going back until at least the age of 19.
Well that was the beginning. These symptoms stayed with me to a degree until the summer of my 27th year. I was working in an auto body shop working towards my journeyman's ticket at this time and was hospitalized for a perianal abscess. Well I thought I was strong enough to overcome this thing as I have had other surgeries before and fared all right. This wasn't the case this time. I have had 14 surgeries on the rectum and my outer sphincter has been destroyed due to multiple fistula surgeries. So ya, unemployed for the past five years after trying to work through the problem, back with the folks, no diagnosis, no disability, just plain nothing. Oh yeah the ex left town with my son because I was too miserable, haven't seen my boy in five years, I'm pretty much on my own and no one seems to understand including my past employers, my fairweather friends or my family.
I really need a diagnosis or I will always just be the guy with no job that mooches off his folks.
