Crohn's disease is not something to take lightly and for the past year and half i had to learn that the hard way. The highs and lows that come with Crohn's disease is not only physical but it is emotionally draining as well. I was tired of hearing the same thing from both my doctors "get back on prednisone" or "there is new drug that has just came out we can begin the program" it was very disappointing and depressing to feel hopeless. I began doing my own research and tried to understand why body was attacking itself maybe it is something that i was doing wrong and I was not aware of it. I read the book Patient Heal Thyself by Jordan S. Rubin and it completely changed my outlook on food, stress, and healing. Our bodies do heal themselves and with proper diet and management of stress remission is inevitable. I stopped eating and drinking dairy except for Omega 3 eggs, I hardly eat red meat mostly fish and chicken. I eat plenty of organic fruits and vegetables and I also started on a gluten free diet which GREATLY improved my symptoms. One of the most important things that helped me was Garden of Life probiotics for women which i open the capsule and put into shakes; it is a miracle in itself. I also looked up chinese herbal teas and drink chamomile tea every day as well as licorice root, ginger, and peppermint tea every so often. Licorice root is an anti-inflammatory. I also stayed away from white flour, sugar, white rice anything that is sugar or turns into sugar is the ENEMY. Western Medicine is not the solution it only suppresses our symptoms while eating healthy and looking for natural simple solutions promote healing. My doctor wanted to put me back on prednisone a month ago but i followed my gut instinct and went for those probiotics which helped me gain 8 pounds in a week and a half. The cure is there Do the research people :) if anyone has questions i will be happy to answer God Bless :)
