In remission with aza, a clean endoscopy, stopping aza?

I was diagnosed with CD 5 years ago and got into remission with 150mg aza and an initial dose of prednison. Now 5 years later im symptome free and i got a "clean" colonscopy. Now i have the choiche to stop or continue with aza.

In my opinion i also can lower my dose, but i am not sure how low.

Are there any expiriances with lowering or stopping aza?

So is it the doctor who is giving you this choice?

From my own experience, when I was first diagnosed many years ago, the thought was to achieve remission, then go off meds....and in my case the time between flares got shorter and shorter and the flares worse and worse.....plus needing stronger meds.....

Many doctors now keep people on a maintenance medication to avoid flaring....
