Our meeting each other would be a great gift in itself, beyond that gifts are at each person's discretion, plenty of hot chocolate and good tea for all (I might have to have one of you Brits bring the tea as I understand ours is inferior, but if you forget I will look hard for the best tea around), I'm not fond of duck, but I can have a nice turkey and ham, plus it has been a tradition of mine to make a nice Boston clam chowder, plus salads (for those that can eat them), fruit dishes (for those that can eat it), rolls, and jellies, and sundry other foods. I'm getting hungry, I had just a sandwich for dinner. It would be unusual for Utah not to have snow, at least on the ski slopes. I can't ski at all, I'm very deprived, I'm about the only Utahn I know that has never at least gone down the slopes, but I can arrange lessons. If all of you really showed up on my doorstep for this party, I would be very happy and would only have to hide one or two family members. Usually about fifteen show up. We would have a great time.
 
G'afternoon (only just).I will either have to go to bed later or log on earlier as it takes too long to do the catch up.Sandy,this Xmas eve party is stating to sound a bit hectic,so I might just stay home with hubby and alfie and go for our usual hike.Also found an Indian restaurant open Xmas day,so that takes care of lunch.Leave the pots and pans though and I'll pop over on 26th and clear up.(after I've polished off the leftovers).
 
I have decided I will be going to the Christmas party at Sandy's - but I will be bringing some large Havana cigars with me - I hope Sandy will help out if US Customs try to confiscate them!

When I went to a cigar exhibition a couple of years ago Miami Customs were asking the purpose of my visit, then how many cigars I was bringing in. I said it was about 12 and I got a bit of a grilling about why I was only bringing in 12 if I was going to a cigar exhibition - not quite believing my story perhaps! Actually I usually go in with about 12 and come out with nearer 100.

No, everybody else won't be standing out in the snow, Robert while you smoke your cigars. It is just you. Sorry, I don't allow smoking in my house. I've got to get busy now. Company is coming. (Doug's brother, sister, and brother-in-law from near Las Vegas.)
 
Well you should know the secret of a happy life..........................never turn down the invitation to a party and Sandy and Doug throw a mean party!

Robert, you are so not smoking in Sandy's house. I'm allergic to smoke. You'll have to stay outside until everyone, including me has left. The smoke would be on your clothes so, that just won't do. Better yet, don't smoke. You don't need emphysema anyway. It would just complicate things.

So Scottsma, where do you usually hike? I like hiking. That sounds like a healthy thing to do. Better than smoking cigars! Ha, ha!

Kirsty, I'm glad you could go to bed and sleep through this. Trysha, we are, as I think we discussed before, in the same boat as you and don't smoke or drink either. Our bodies already have enough problems. Drinking is definitely contra-indicated for seizure meds also. But we still love all of you, even if Robert won't come to a party without smoking allowed. As to the other aspects, well, to each his or her own. Group hugs, I'm to lazy to go find the emoticon.

Hey, is anybody coming to my party? I don't care if you bring your own booze. In fact, I would love to see my mother's reaction.
Nature lover, see? Not even you want a group win. It's hard for me to even share this win with other Utahns. Even Doug. But he will share it with me, won't he (yes dear).
 
On second thought, I might leave all of my family except my Mother off the invitation list just to watch her reaction to somebody drinking at a party. (Me bad, me bad.) She can't stand anybody to have a different lifestyle than hers, and she has been a little (lot) sheltered. But I still love her.
 
Reading glasses are special Rx. They have all kinds of extra's including polorized. I have weird eye needs. Just gota love my RSD. I'm typing with one eye closed and some of the time with both eyes closed. (because my eyes hurt. Aren't I talented?) I also have regular special Rx progressive lense glasses. The reading part only works for looking at a menu or reading something real short. For some reason, they don't make pregressive lense glasses with different reading lenses, so since my eyes need different strenght etc. reading glasses, the progressive lenses don't work well.

I'm hoping since they are fairly new that I can get new frames free of charge.

I have been thinking this through - Sandy would you arrange to have a heated outdoor smoking area built for me by Christmas - space for cable tv, drinks cabinet, fridge, darts board, leather armchair..................then I will come.

I have cigars to review this weekend - now that's a tough job.

Carol - very helpful suggestion but I don't think you are taking this seriously.

I watched the ladies hockey Bronze Medal match on tv yesterday - GB v New Zealand. Plenty of talent on show there.
 
Good afternoon my fellow nutters.I've had a really good giggle while schrolling down.Boring people would really love to know what you're all "on".But I know it's just infectious banter that makes us tick.Like some of you I no longer smoke or drink,but it was a lifestyle choice more than anything.But I could be persuaded to start again.I'm easily lead.so for that confession,I WIN. PS I'm really worried abouy Cheryl now.
 
Just been sitting in the sun for an hour with chilled wine and reviewing my first cigar of the weekend - and I am getting paid to do that. What a job!
 
Fell asleep on the couch and no one woke me up to send me to bed or hook up my IV. I slept great. Woke up at two thirty or three and went up to bed. Didn't hook up IV. I feel blah today.

For all that, I am sneaking in for the win. I love our nutty group. What would we do without each other?

I'll help Aura in the kitchen. Someone's gotta keep the counters clean for the next dish to be made and of course the dishes have to be kept up so she has enough to work with.

By the way, our company, Doug's brother, sister and nephew finally decided to show up (without the bro-in-law who stayed home with some major thyroid problems going on.) The bro is going to stay with us until next Thursday. The rest are staying with another friend. We don't see them enough.
 
I've always wanted a house with a fireplace and a wrap around front porch.

I'm watching Jackie Evanco. She sang a duet with with her 14 yr. old brother. It was beautiful. She's singing a song from Phantom of the Opera right now. What an amazing voice in such a tiny youth.

My daughter and I are wondering if she is wearing a purity ring on her finger or if it's just a ring. It definitely looks like a purity ring. Hope it is.

I finally found the HUG button. It's not circle like a button should be. It's rectangle! How confusing!

I do believe Trev is color blind. The photos of me posted in this thread clearly show that I am a brunette. I am also a sewer, so when someone says button, they usually mean a round button. Not a rectangle button. Now if you were a sewer and you told me about a button, I would ask you if it was round or not. But I know you are not a sewer. You are a male motor bike rider. Very fun sport but it would be highly unlikely you would be a sewer.
