I have been trying to get pregnant for about a year now. I have had 4 early losses in that time. It seems I cant make it past 5 weeks. Am I the only crohnie this has happened too. Plus all of them seem to happen when I am in remission. I of course cant get pregnant when I am flaring, which makes sense. I beginning to wonder if I will ever have another baby.

i have two great kids, i also lost two (one at 11weeks and the second an ectopic pregnancy at 7 weeks) I had the first miscarriage before my daughter and the ectopic between my daughter and son. At the time i was only on asacol and my disease was active throughout both pregnancies. Both my kids were healthy, even though i felt wretched throughout. I do think there is a link between autoimmune conditions and early miscarriage, and your GI will no doubt look into all of that, hopefully they'll put you on something to bring the immune reaction down a bit. keep me posted, im actually trying for number 3 myself at the minute so am super interested in everyone elses experience xxx take care :goodluck:

Hello, just reading through the post and came across this, just wondering if you ever found out about your blood work to check if the miscarriages may be autoimmune???
I am new to the site and have not been diagnosed, still waiting to see the Gi Specialist, but have been told by two family docs they think it is UC, anyways I have had 3 miscarriages, two at 5 weeks and one at 10 weeks and the most recent one was right when my symptoms got really bad. I had my son 11 months ago (a month early but healthy and happy) and have had tummy issues since. We have been trying to conceice for 6 months now and was pretty bummed to conceive and loose it right away, but I am now wondering if it may be related...it makes sense if your body can not take care of itself, then it surely can not support other. We have decided to stop trying to conceive until I see the GI Specialist and go from there

All I can do is give you a big virtual hug. I do understand what it feels like to lose a baby. I lost my first baby at 21 weeks, and my second at the ending of 17 weeks. Last March I delivered a healthy baby girl at 39 weeks. Please do not give up hope or trying One of the cantankerous, male teachers in my building had given me more support and encouragement than he'll probably ever realize. After losing the second baby Rick said, "You'll have a baby. Don't give up." He then went into telling me a story about this cousin who had multiple early losses. I think she lost 11 pregnancies. She was eventually able to carry two baby girls to term. When Scott and I were trying, I remembered his story and encouragement. It truly helped that he believed that I would eventually be blessed with the desire of my heart.
