I am planning on walking the 500 mile pilgrimage called the Camino de Santiago. I will start in western France and walk the entire distance across Spain to Santiago. I'll try to do it in 30 days which means a little over 16 miles a day, every day.
I'll have to carry a backpack with only essential items and try to keep it at or under 10% of my body weight.
I had a bowel resection and takedown of fistula in November 2011. I plan on the pilgrimage in October, a little less than a year after my surgery.
Am I nuts? Perhaps you shouldn't answer that.
