Hi,
I'm 37 years old, male.
Had small problems with occasional blood during bm's since 2006, doc's suspected Ulceros colitis. Was given different medication ( Asacol etc.) but nothing worked on me and i had the worst side-effects almost on any med.
September, this year, I was downsizing the ammount of pred after a complete failure using Azathioprin ( vomiting ) and was down to about 10mg pred. After some weeks of non medication a HUGE flare-up came around and i was losing 30 lbs in a few weeks, couldn't hold anything inside and slept all day. When I finally visited my gastro department I got hospitalized for 10 days and had the usual colonscopy and one through the nose. Crohn's was finally diagnosed and pretty fast I was prescribed Humira as I am considered having an agressive kind of Crohn's.
So thats where i am now, on Humira every 2 weeks - trying to convince myself its working although I'm not sure. I'll definately give it the 3 months chance as I was told.

Happy new year to everyone - all the best.

/Uli

Welcome Uli. :)
That's too bad that things took so long to get figured out, but i'm happy for you that you finally have a solid diagnosis and you can get moving on treatment. Hopefully the Humira works for you soon. :)

Hi and welcome! I am also on humira--just started today with my 4 injections in the stomach (stings but hopefully worth it!) and 2 injections in 2 weeks, then down to one every other week. I'm looking forward to having just the one injection. :)

From what I have heard, Humira is great for people with moderate to severe Crohn's, so hopefully you respond well to the treatment.

Best of luck and hope things start improving for you soon!

Welcome Uli, I was on Humira and it worked for some time. I hope it works for you, hang in there. It sucks to have this disease but here you will learn alot of information.

Hey Uli,

I have read that the incidence of Crohn's and Colitis is very high in Scandinavia. I hope that there is some good research happening where you are. If you happen to come across any news, please translate and let us know.

Thx all, nice to be here.

Peaches : I've been on Humira for a little over a month - I'm now on 1 injection every 2 weeks.

GoJohnnyGo : Yes, will sure do that.
