Hello All-
I desperately need some insight and guidance due to the fact that this has all happened to me in just a short period of 2 months. So- I haven't had much time to do any research due to being in and out of the hospital for 4 different surgeries. This Friday I have to go in for an anoplasty. I need to know everything you know about this.
But first I will give you some background. In late January, I went in for a hemorrhoid draining. I had thrombosed internal and external hemorrhoids. They said it was the worst case they have ever seen. I have suffered from hems for about 15 years and didn't go in until the hems were too much to handle. The draining obviously didn't work and I was sent to a specialist (colorectal surgeon). It took him 2 seconds to take a look at my rectum and he immediately scheduled an emergency level 4 hemrrhoidectomy. It was the most painful experience I have ever gone through. Long story short, I had many complications and one of those included sever fissures so because of that I had a fissurectomy and a sphincterotomy. After those surgeries I felt as thought my butt hole was closing. I told me surgeon and he didn't listen to me. He told me to wait it out and that it'll feel worse before it feels better but I went with my intuition and got a 2nd opinion. That surgeon (which is now my current surgeon) told me I am suffering from severe anal stenosis. He said its from too many surgeries and too much stool softner that my previous surgeon put me on. He said that he needs to perform an anolplasty. I haven't been able to find much detail on this surgery other then trials and that it is present in many newborns. I found one testimonial that said the anolplasty was more painful then the hemrrhoidectomy. So please, give me any insight you have on this surgery. I am constantly in pain and cannot go to the bathroom at all. I haven't had a BM in over 7 days now because the canal is much too small. I am on Percocet 10mgs for my pain and that is helping me get through it. I am on a high fiber diet and through all these surgeries have not been constipated yet.
So please help.. I only have a few days until my surgery and I am in desperate need of guidance on this next surgery. Tell me everything you know about anolplasty as result of too many surgeries. HELP!
