Nervous and excited!

So my GI finally gave up. He doesn't know what to do with me. He has referred me to the Vanderbilt IBD Clinic in Nashville. They specialize in Crohn's/UC and have the best of the best in the area. I have a day-long assesment with several specialists. I know I'm seeing a psychiatrist (anyone know why I'd need that??), a nutritionist and 'another specialist' (hopefully a GI??). No clue what all they're going to do. But I'm hopeful they can find something to end this 2-year-long flare. Cimzia, Remicade, Imuran, Apriso, Lialda, Entocort, VSL#3, immodium...everything helps a little...but nothing gets me close to remission.

Also, I'm finally seeing a rheumatologist for the first time ever next week due to severe hip (and toes-random) pain.

That's all around good news! My Rheumy is the one who put me on Humira and decided to play the role of GI. So far things are going well. He seemed to know a lot more than my GI so who knows, maybe your Rheumy might be able to treat your Crohn's better.

Why the psychiatrist? Could be a number of reasons but the first one that comes to mind is to check your mental state after going through all this to see if you suffer from anxiety or depression. And/or possibly see if stress is a main factor with you so if that gets under control then perhaps you might start seeing improvement where remission is concerned.
