New and a little confused.

Hello everyone. It was fate that made me find this forum :thumright:

It will be a year this May that I have been suffering from abdominal distension and pain as well as going to the bathroom many times.

Last year I was diagnosed with a parasite and albendazole worked wonders for approx six weeks. But the symptoms returned.

Finally went to a new PMD and GI specialist and he did an endoscopy and colonoscopy. I am negative for Celiac Disease but was diagnosed with Lymphocytic Colitis. (yesterday I found out)

Could this have been caused by the parasites?

I'm on an SSRI, should I stop?

Should I give up my morning coffee?

I have opted against the Entocort as I told him I would like to try omitting foods from my diet (high fat/sugary) and taking Citrucel everyday.

Well good luck to everyone else. I will be reading your stories.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I am sorry that you have been going through everything you have. I don't think the parasite is the cause of your colitis. This is a IBD. I don't think you should stop your SSRI, you may have withdraws if you do that. Also the Entocort maybe something you might want to take at this point. I would talk to your Dr. and GI before doing anything.
I also feel that this forum is somewhere I should be. I have gotten alot of support from mant new friends in here. Keep coming back.
