New and undiagnosed

Hello! I am a 21 year old mom and soon to be army wife, I have been having troubles since I was about 6 years old and as a child my mom took me to many doctors and I was never diagnosed with anything other than constipation. Over the years my symptoms have gotten worse and I have finally gotten the courage to talk to my doctor, I go in tomorrow. I have a disease called hidradenitis suppurativa which many people with this disease have crohns. My symptoms include bouts of diarrhea that can last weeks and gets bloody, after I eat anything I get so bloated and am in so much pain sometimes I can't move, I get nauseous and sometimes I go days without eating because I just have no desire to eat. I'm a smoker and when I smoke for some reason it makes it worse. I'm almost always having abdominal pain, but the past week has been so incredibly painful I just don't know what to do.

Hi and welcome.

I'm glad you have an appointment tomorrow. Is it with a GP or a GI specialist?

I'd suggest keeping a food and symptom journal to see if you have any safe foods. I'd also strongly suggest you quit smoking. It can make things worst and reduce the effectiveness of meds (particularly in crohns).

Hope you get answers soon. Sending you my support.
