New here to forum, long time with Crohns

Hello,
My name is Patrick, I am 45 and was diagnosed with Crohn's when I was 27.
Although, I know there were issues a few years before then.

Prior to September, I was on Pentasa, 250mg 8/day.
The first few months of Pentasa were awful. It felt as if someone was randomly poking with 1000 needles in my abdomen area. That went away and I never had that feeling again.

My "flares" usually started with a fever and ended within a day or two.
Low grade fever, many bathroom visits and generally achy, unwell feeling.

This April, I had a Real FLARE.
Abdominal pain and discomfort. It lasted about 4 weeks. I lost 18 pounds.

My GI did a colonoscopy and said my disease had advanced and pentasa was no longer effective.

I started Azathioprine in September.
50 mg for a month, then blood tests. Good
No side affects noticed.
100 mg for a month, then blood tests, Good
My finger nails seemed to crack very easy, other wise nothing else.
150 mg for a month, then blood tests. Good
Extreme Fatigue, I never feel rested, but always exhuasted. I also
noticed tingling in my fingers and hands.
I informed my GI, he had me come in for another round of blood tests.
Everything looks good.
The tingling has mostly gone away, it lasted about two weeks.

I am rambling now
That is my story.
Thanks for listening..

Patrick

Hey Patrick are you feeling better on the high dose? I can relate to the extreme fatigue, I never want to leave my house and get dizzy when out too long.

Hope you get to look around the forum and participate in anything of interest.
