Hey nnac7270,
Welcome to the forum! We're more than happy to have you here
I'm CYY. I've been having symptoms of IBD since I was 5ish, although I never did get a diagnosis until last December. I'm 16-turning-17 this year. So yeah, that makes it slightly more than 10 years for me too.
I'm sorry that the Remicade didn't work out for you. I've been on many drugs too. The last one was Azathioprine. Apparently, I'm part of 3% of the population who didn't tolerate it. Who knew?
As for the hospital visits, I've burned through 8 appointment cards (currently on my ninth) in the past 6 months alone. It's crazy that I'm missing so much of school because of it. I guess it must've been even crazier for you, since you've had a diagnosis.
Crohn's is a very cruel disease. But you've got lots of people here who are willing to help you get through it. Lend a listening ear when you feel like it. Give you support and encouragement when you need it. Yeah, so that's all cool.
Oh, and do check out the support groups if you haven't already. They're great.
And also, feel free to message me if you want to chat about school or whatever.
Here's wishing you all the best with Humira ^^
Cheers,
CYY
