New member - Hello

new member wanting to say hello.

I was recently in the Emergency Room with diarhea (no blood) and awful pain in my abdomen.

The doctor gave me a CT scan and said my entire colon was infected.

I left with a prescription of Flagyl and Cipro.

I've never had symptoms before this and had a colonoscopy 2 years ago that was fine.

I have an appointment in 30 days with a GI specialist.

Feeling a lot better lately but still have a bowel urgency 2-3 times a day although they are solid.

Just wanted to share my story. any thoughts on diet what to avoid, etc...

Hello and welcome. Glad you're feeling better. It's difficult to advise on diet as everyones different (you'll read that a lot on here) It's probably good to keep a food diary and see what triggers an upset for you.For some it's spices, fried food, pizzas etc etc,the list is endless and individual. Stay well and best wishes.

Right now I'm staying away from fiber, peanuts, milk.

I'm eating rice krispies with soy milk, peanut butter and jelly on white bread, eggs. Trying to keep it pretty basic.

I'm also drinking Metamucil 3 times a day.
