Newbie

I have had Crohn's for over 30 years; 3 resections, and many conditions associated with the disease and it's treatments. Currently on Humira.
Seems the older I get, the more problems I develop. Every time I go to the doctor with something new occurring, I'm told, you have Crohn's, deal with it.

Welcome to the community. I'm sorry to hear you're having more issues as you get older :(

What new symptoms have you been experiencing?

I wish you well.

Hi i.d.crohnie,

Welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear that you are dealing with more and more problems.

If your doctor takes the attitude that you have Crohn's so that's what you should expect and you just need to deal with it, then it is time for a new GI. A really good GP/primary care physician can also be a great help.

One of my first GI's had the same attitude. He did not care that I still had symptoms despite the treatment he had prescribed and basically said "You have Crohn's, what do you expect?". Well, we should be able to expect to have GIs who listen to us, who investigate the causes of all our symptoms, who monitor our disease activity with regular blood test, fecal calprotectin tests and imaging and who aim for complete clinical, endoscopic and histological remission. Anything less and we should expect to replace them :)

Best of luck
