• Welcome to Crohn's Forum, a support group for people with all forms of IBD. No one to talk too...

I ended up in the ER and they say my crohn's is in remission but my stomach hurts like heck. Aciphex isn't working. I have low grade fevers that come and go and my back hurts like heck. I have an endoscopy tomorrow. Hope everything is o.k.

I'm so bummed because everyone in my family are all distant :( I don't get it. I hardly get any help with this.

Thanks for listening.

Hello Wolfem,
Sorry to hear you are having some problems and hope something will be found to help you.
Currently I am having symptoms similar to you and debating whether to ride it out if possible or seek some help sooner.
It sometimes seems to be discouraging when we can't get a clear view of things and symptoms refuse to go away.
Sadly that seems to be Crohns.
Keep us posted as to what happens.
Feel better soon
Hugs and best wishes

Sorry to hear you are in the dreaded hospital Wolfem. It's hard enough in there without having to be isolated from any family support...
Hopefully they are correct and that the Crohns is in remission, and it is the gastritis that is causing your suffering. PPI's like Aciphex can lose their effectiveness over time. Do you have any stomach ulcers?
Take care and rest up if possible.

I am so forry you are having a hard time. It is so not fun much less to do it alone!

Do you go to church? Sometimes someone is willing to pick up medications, drive you to the Dr. Dust and vacume. Its just a thought.

Maybe an IBD support grp. I know if I was in remission I would gladly pick up meds etc for a person not in remission.

I hope you feel better soon! Please check in again soon.

Thanks for the support. I ended up in the ER several times because I panic all the time now. Can't seem to stop worrying:shifty-t:

wolfem-
Anxiety- I think its a part of Crohns just like abdominal pain. If you think about it- I think our bodies feel an "attack" coming on and the anxiety just starts. After all we know whats coming!

I hope you get it under control soon!

My hiatal hernia is inflammed (looks kind of gross) and I have gastritis again :/ They keep checking my pancrease because of some of the other symptoms I'm having. However, I find that if I eat salt a lot the burning pain all over subsides. My muscles twitch every once in awhile and when I went to the ER my potassium was on the edge of being low. I can't eat bananas because I'm allergic. Ugh. This is so annoying and I can't eat apple juice because it hurts my stomach. I called the doctor to see if I could drink pedialyte.

Does anyone else have electrolyte issues? I kept thinking all of my neuro problems were electrolytes awhile back and then I started freaking out recently thinking it was something serious.:sign0085:

Thanks for all of your input

Still not digesting food very well and losing weight :/

Doctor has me on protonix :/

Ginger helps so much but I'm trying not to drink very much because I don't want it to interfere with any of my meds.

I have to take tylenol because the doctors dont want me to become addicted to vicodin or the other analgesics. Having lots of mental issues right now :/

I only weigh 97lbs! :( I have a high metabolism as it is and this just compounds everything :yfrown:

Have you tried avocados for the electrolytes? Also, dandelion, peppermint and chamomile teas are good for electrolytes besides the ginger that you are already drinking. :rosette2:

Wolfem, How are you doing??? What has been going on? I know it has been a couple of months since your post. I think we talked about this on a different thread but I have issues with low potassium as well. And panic disorder! YAY! I just started prednisone Monday and don't feel well yet but notice a difference. I'm losing weight right now too. I'm down 10% of my body weight from 2-3 weeks ago. Trying to get help from my doctors but the GI referred me to a Rheumy because he did not feeling that the inflammation in my colon was compelling enough to believe my symptoms stem from the crohns. Sometimes I feel like I am just running around, throwing money at people (doctors) and begging for help and they all just pass me around.

Hey, I ended up in the hospital for other problems... well panic disorder. Anyhow, nice hearing from you. I think my digestion is finally returning to normal from the surgery :) Sounds strange but I've noticed a huge difference all of sudden or, maybe its the psych meds (LOL).

Hope the prednisone works for you! Keep in touch and let me know how things go. Sometimes if you find a doctor with a really strange specialty, they are the ones that can help. lol. My sleep specialist is also internal medicine and she does more nutrition testing and autoimmune (digestive) than any of the doctors I've seen. She is great! Spent an hour and half with me--told me she could help me with my neuro issues :)
