Not Yet Diagnosed But Highly Suspicious

Greetings All,

For about 3 months now I've been experiencing watery stools with particles of undigested food. At first, it presented with acute abdominal pain (especially at night) which was only relieved by sips of water. I went to my family doctor and she referred me for both a Gastroscopy and a Colonoscopy. The Colonoscopy was normal but the Gastroscopy revealed a 0.5 mm gastric ulcer. I was put on Protonix (a PPI). I have a repeat Gastroscopy scheduled for the 8th of Jan. Now, I know that PPI's can cause diarrhea but really nothing has changed since before the 2 Endoscopies.
I am 57 years old and have GI troubles in the family but no-one was ever diagnosed with Crohn's. Never-the-less, I'm very suspicious that this may be the cause. Nothing that I eat or drink seems to improve the symptoms. I suspect that I'm in for a battery of tests but really don't know.
Thanks for reading.

Hi and welcome.

Sorry you're dealing with this mess. I'd suggest a referral to a GI specialist.

Sending you my support.
