Omvoh (mirikizumab) (similar to Stelara) approved for UC but not for Crohns??

Well I just found out that Omvoh (mirikizumab) was approved for UC but not for Crohns.

It seems that every other biologic that works for UC also works for Crohns, so I am wondering why they did not approved for Crohns.... the more options the better (well at least for the patients) since the biologics costs are supposed to come down.

I am now on Stelera, and it did nothing for me until they upped up the dose to 1 shot every 4 weeks.

I just had my Calprotectin test done and its around 200 so that is good news. Every 4 weeks did the trick for me. It still is not as good as Remicade (Calc around 50 on a high dose) but I feel much better since I am fine and I am not catching colds all the time.
With Remicade I was all the time with a cold and I had to take a lot of antibiotics, 2 or 3 weeks after I stopped them the infections got back.

But the problem is that it was a battle to get Stelara approved to every 4 weeks by the insurance company. This year probably it will be the same. Considering that its around 25k every month I don't blame them.

Lilly will pursue approval in Crohn’s in 2024, when it will submit a marketing application to the FDA and other regulatory agencies.
So it will go to the fda this year sometime

When you said infections would be recurring, do you mean pneumonia caused by the cold?

not really pneumonia.

I got a bad cold, and then in a couple of days cough got productive and the phlegm got yellow or green.....then I got antibiotics and then it cleared right away and after the course of antibiotics 2 or 3 weeks later the same thing happened again and again.

But I never got fever or pneumonia, just asthma. Before that did not happen.

This year no problems at all. Maybe it was not the Remicade and it was just a coincidence.
