Partner has been poorly

Hi everyone feel like I needed to talk to anyone that wants to listen. My partner has had Crohn's now for 3 years .The last 2 months he has been unwell. We run a cleaning business which is very busy .He has not been able to work only half day here and there.Which is fine it is not his fault.
He has been hardly eaten .A tin of Mackeral for breakfast. A cooked chicken for lunch and some veg thats it.He seams to just be very quiet not him self and I find it is really hard to talk to him regrding how he feels ? If I ask he says I dont understand!
He does not take any meds .He was on Pantasa but lst year I had to call a and e as I thought he was having heart attack. Found out the pills he was on Pantasa was causing simular symptons.
That was last Feb 2014.
We moved and he has not seen anyone for a year.
Not been on any medicine he has been taking Ultimte Flora Critical care.and
Caprylic Acid.
He does not have much energy.I booked the doctors a couple weeks back as I thought he needs to see someone an expert!
Thursday last week I phoned the doctors and said I will pay for my partner to see Specialist which we were booked in today.
We went and the doctor there wants to put him on steroids and 8 anti acid tablets a day to ease symptons.
After leaving my partner said that was a waste of time . As he feels they are throwing tablets at him without double checking whats actually going on .
I just want him to be well again.
He belives its Candida not Crohn's Just really wanting to know anyone on here that suffers from Candidia and Crohn's?
I feel like I cant do no right Im treading egg shells.
Sorry to moan on... x

Welcome to the forum. I am sorry you and your partner are going thru such a hard time. Did your partner went to a GI? I am pretty sure steroids will help to control some of the symptoms until other medication is given. I believe some tests have to be done. Your partner may be suffering from depression. I am glad He has someone like you at his side. Feel free to ask questions. I hope someone will answer about Candida.

Hi, there. Welcome the the boards.

I'm sorry to hear that your partner is in rough shape; he's lucky to have someone that cares. I would encourage your partner to take the medication prescribed to ease his pain and discomfort for the time being, while you pursue seeing about getting an official diagnosis. This is typically done through looking inside of the bowel (a procedure called a colonoscopy) and taking biopsies of the tissue inside the bowel to test it for indicators of Crohn's Disease.

I hope that your partner feels better again soon! Just stay on top of finding the right diagnosis. If your current specialist doesn't want to run a test to verify, then perhaps consider finding a new specialist. In the meantime, though, it is better for your partner to be more comfortable, and control his symptoms, which the steroids and antacids will (hopefully) do.
