Prednisone taper

Secondary adrenal insufficiency
An endocrinologist can help with that
You shouldn’t have symptoms of adrenal suppression ( adrenal not working because you are taking prednisone) while you are on 7.5 mg or more of prednisone as 5 to 7.5 mg of prednisone is the maintenance dose for the avg size adult whose adrenals are not working. The exception would be if you are sick, experiencing stress, or undergoing surgery or trauma. During such stresses, the adrenals normally make a lot more cortisol and people with suppressed adrenals need to take a stress dose orally or Intramuscularly or intravenously if they are no longer on daily steroids or only on a small amount.

If a person does not have adequate steroids, a person could feel weak, tired, dizzy, nauseous or vomit there could be low bp.
