So per Ds’s Gi in pediatric adolescent world at least they are now recommending all their patients who are on biologics to get the prevnar vaccine (one that helps protect against pneumonia)
Ds will be in college in the fall so that might be driving the recommendation as well

I have to check with pcp since he had a “lite” version as an infant /toddler so not sure how much or which version he should get now

My daughter also got Prevnar - we didn't have to stop her biologics as far as I remember. I would check on MTX though because rheumatologists tend to recommend that you stop it for a flu shot, especially if you're on higher doses. I can't remember if the same is true for the pneumonia vaccine but I would check.

Also, before college, the Meningitis vaccine was recommended for both my girls (if he hasn't already had that).

Just got meningitis booster since that was given at 13 previously 🤦‍♀️
Ds is not happy since he stopped mtx for the meningitis booster and now has to do it again for prevnar and COVID booster (fall version) before school

Did his joints flare from stopping MTX? M’s always do :(.

Don’t forget the flu shot - you have stop MTX for that too! For whatever reason, our rheumatologist told us to not have the pneumonia vaccine and the flu vaccine the same day, so we ended up having to stop MTX twice.
