All depends on the treatment......
I think I was into remission within 6 months of starting Remicade, and have been on it now for over 17 years with only little blips here and there.

Wow! My boyfriend started Avsola recently. First treatment he’s tried so far. Finished loading doses. Hoping it works well for him
. Congrats!I went into remission with diet, SCD, took around 6 weeks. Lasted until I cheated and drank a lot of alcohol one night (3 months). Based on my symptom score I am still in remission clinically but I do have inflammation. Remission via diet is very fragile and involves a lot of trial and error, unfortunately.
You must have a lot of self discipline! Wish my boyfriend was better with his diet but it’s so hard to give some things up.
Having Crohn’s for over 30 years I have been in remission a few times but Crohn’s always returns. The first time I was on sulfasalazine and the doctor took me off sulfasalazine when my scope was clear and I was in remission probably over 10 years with no meds. Then started having female issues and the Crohn’s went crazy. Had a hysterectomy for my female issues and the Crohn’s went into remission for about another 10 years. Had a mild flare doctor put me on Humira took it for 9 months and had to be taken off it because of side affects. Crohn’s was doing alright but not in remission the doctor gave me brochures on other biologics and told me too call him with which biologic I decided I wanted to take. I never called him back instead I went on an all organic diet and no meds. Went into remission right away for 4 years. These 4 years were the best I ever felt with Crohn’s. Even the other years I was in remission didn’t feel as good as these 4 years. I made the mistake of taking a trip for a couple weeks where there was no organic food and I was eating conventional food. At the end of the 2nd week on the way home I started to have a flare. Needless to say this was the worst flare in my life. The flare lasted over a year I was on prednisone for 9 months and it did major damage to my bones and eyes. I also lost 26 pounds which at my weight of 115 pounds a loss of 26 pounds is to much. During this flare the doctor tried Azathioprine and Methotrexate at different times and had to be taken off both because of side affects. I am now on Skyrizi since May and have been off steroids since then. Not in remission but doing much better aside from the pain from the bone damage. So all this to say Crohn’s is unpredictable for when it will flare or when it will go in remission. I also went back to my organic diet when I got back from my trip and all through this last flare and still only eat organic but never went back in remission. So you just never know.
