Sad Story To Tell

Well, I'm a teenager that has been diagnosed with different things, but Crohn's have been the main thing the doctors think I have. I've had this since I was a little girl and has been suffering ever since. I use to get the pain every 2 to 3 days a year, but now I get them every month. I have been taken to the hospital more than 13 times because of this and have seen a lot of specialist. I have had surgery 3 times but nothing seems to help me. This pain really brings me and my family down. Does anyone have advise they can give me? I'm desperate for answers and cures...:sign0085:

I'm really sorry to hear about your ongoing struggle. What do they do at the hospital for you? Administer pain meds? Maybe they can give you a small supply for when the pain gets really bad so you don't need to rush to the ER.

Are you on any Crohn's medications? If not it sounds like you need to be on something to control your disease.

I have had similar experiences. I was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid when I was about 9/10 and miraculously recovered which was baffling to the docs. I was then diagnosed with crohns when I was about 12/13 which took a while to be diagnosed as I was so young to have crohns.

The only kind of advice I could give is to just try and keep focused on what you want to do, try not to dwell (although hard at times) on the disease otherwise you just end up very unhappy. Try to think positively and surround yourself with positive people and family in your life :)

Hi and welcome to the forum! :welcome:

I too was diagnosed as a teenager. But, right now I think talking with those around the same age might be a little easier. We have a wonderful group called: Teens only where teens are able to talk together about what they're going through. I am sending you the link to help you see it better.

I also encourage you to check out our chat room and other parts of the forum. Please let me know if you have any questions. I hope to see you around here!
