Hi ladies.. I have a question. I have seen some ulcerations between my anus and vagina. This has been going on a few weeks now and no matter what butt cream I put on it, they don't heal and hurt! I do have hemmorrhoids which also seem to have a couple of visible ulcerations. I don't know what to do be wise I'm having such diarrhea that I can't keep any suppositories in like canasa and a steroid supp..any suggestions?what could the ulcerations be??Thanks a lot!cindy

What meds are you currently taking? What has your GI said about it (Crohn's can cause issues outside of the intestines as well)? Has your GYN seen them yet to run some tests to make sure they are Crohn's related? Best to get STI/STDs ruled out.

Hi there Cindy, you should get them looked at. I currently have a fistula in that area but it doesn't quite sound like a fistula. Is there puss or anything coming out of the ulceration? Is it hole like? Maybe it's fissures or yeast related?? Sorry I can't be more help.

Hi all..and thanks for your kind replies. I don't have an std since I'm not sexually active. I can't tell if there's a hole or not. I took photos( a new low!) on my iPhone so I could have a looksie myself. All I can see is an ulceration and there does seem to have pus.
It could be from the severe diarrhea which is full of bile since I have malabsorption Due to all my surgeries and possibly more crohns. The tests have all been negative but the ulceration is new and nothing I have experienced before.
It looks like it could erode into my rectum but I can't tell. I've never had a fistula but as far as I can tell there's no hole yet. I have no fever except for nightly sweats. But again..afebtile. I do take a lot of Tylenol for pain right now and the odd dose of Motrin when the pain is bad(I know..not ideal for crohns patients)!
I guess it could also be a yeast infection. There's no discharge from down under that I can tell either. There does seem to be some erosion in some of my hemmorrhoids. I'm starting on cimzia this weekend. Switched from humira.
I left a message for my gi today and she hadn't responded. It hurts to pee and poop.
I've had severe diarrhea for about a month although labs are normal too. I have learned how to replace fluids and lytes pretty good.I have tried bile salt binding agents which make me constipated, probiotics which cause extreme bloating, and I'm immune to lomotil. I'm not sure why questran doesn't help but it seems to caste more problems in the long run.
I had a cat scan last month that they said didn't show active disease. But I only got this ulcer in the past week or two.:hallo3:

Smallfry..how did you know when you were developing a fistula?was it just obvious!thanks!

PS..it's at the outer aspect of my anus..more anal than vaginal if that makes sense!:yfaint:

I was actually told nothing was there by my GI for about a year while my GP would say I can feel something... I switched GI's and was sent for an MRI where I was told I had abscessing which has now turned into fistula. Second opinions can be very important!!!

It started as a burning sensation then elevated to a throbbing stabbing knife feeling. Extreme pain with the abscess. With the open tract the pain is less but I am still quite sore. There is a pussy, bloody drainage that comes from the hole. I currently have a peri-anal seton in place to help with drainage. Some days it's not too bad but most it is quite tender and really hurts to poop!!
An MRI is what diagnosed things for me as well as an EUA ( examination under anesthetic).
The puss could mean fistula so keep an eye on it for sure. Let me know how it goes, good luck!

Thanks smallfry! I'm seeking a sown one open from a colorectal surgeon and an IBD specialist. Ecsuse I feel as compassionate as my gi docktr is, she has reached her limit with me and tends not to take much of anything seriously anymore

I've just never had ulcerations Xeon there or any real perianal problems.I became used to hemmorrhoids and methought painful, I can live with them for the moment..

If you can't get in touch with your GI soon then maybe you could have your GP take a look in the meantime. They may at least be able to help reduce the pain better.

Thanks so much! I did have someone look at it and it seems that it's only from severe diarrhea and my hemmorrhoids which prolapsed and were really painful. I think the stuff I was using to help my roids kept everything really moist all the time so it caused some major irritation and erosion. Whew!! No fissures visible or fistulas!yay!!:D
It was jus hard for me to see even though I had takn photos on my iPhone..can you believe it??hope nobody goes looking through my photo gallery !haha!got to laugh sometimes with this illness!!
