Just had a note from Silver's hubby saying that the colonoscopy Silver had a few back wasn't as clean as they first thought...:(. When the biopsy results came in they had found two tumours in what was left of Silvers sigmoid colon.

Thank god they are what is called T1 tumours so they have been caught very early. The surgeons have had to go in and remove the rest of Silver's bowel but they are very confident that surgery was totally successful at removing all the cancer, so no further treatment just very close monitoring.

This now means that Silver's Colostomy is permanent. Her recovery is much slower this time around but at least the infections she has been burdened with for so are long are finally starting to heal as well.

Silver really needs all our prayers, comfort and support right now. Hubby says she is getting there but it is tough going! Silver has been here for so many of us and given us such love, comfort and invaluable advice so lets let her know how much we love and miss her!

:hang: mate! You are in our thoughts and prayers. I hope your recovery continues to go well hun and this will now be the start of much better things to come. Sending mega loads of squishy hugs and love across the pond...:hug::hug:

Much love mate, :Karl:
Dusty. xxxxxxxx

Thanks, Dusty.

Get well soon, Silver. I wish you all the best for a speedy recovery and the good life. Best to you husband too.

Thank you so much for your support and well wishes  .

I am finally home in my own bed and familiar, comfortable environment, and hopefully it stays that way for a bit. I am still so tired - all I have done for the past two days is sleep... lol.

Overall things are going well, and healing well. The "new" stoma is behaving very well, and I am actually finding I have less leakage with the permanent one as opposed to the loop (which seemed to kind of leak "under" the skin - which cause more irritation, bad seals, etc.) so hopefully this continues.

First check up is next week - so hopefully all goes well. Right now I am just so knackered all I want to do is crawl back into bed and sleep until winter - or until supper time, whichever comes first.

Hope you all are doing well and taking care of yourself.

Squishy hugs from The Moon.

Halloooo gorgeous!!! Very glad to hear you are home and safe and sound in your own bed. Take it easy luvvy. Keep yourself well.

So good to hear you are home safe and sound..
and the best part is being able to sleep in your own bed.

So good to hear that things are working out for you. Hope and wish for you it will stay that way and you'll get better in no time.
Take care and take it easy!

So I was back to the city for check ups last week - so far so good - but the travel wiped me out, and all i did was sit there while hubby drove!!

Crohn's fistulas seem to be (finally) doing some serious healing - but still having sore spots and some drainage so after consulting with an extremely experienced Gastroenterologist in the BIG City, (my doc works in the "Little" city - lol) - who is like 80 years old and essentially the "guru" in these parts - they are now queering vaginal/labial fistulas (or basically fistulas in any parts of my lady bits), so off to see a DIFFERENT gyne from the one I have been seeing, as this newer one (maybe) has a bit more experience with "lady issues" and CD......

I am getting bloody sick and tired of seeing new doctor faces this year - I swear I have been to the doc more times in the past year than I have in the past 25 years that I have had CD...... grrrr.

Oh well, maybe someone will finally figure out what the hell is wrong with me (other than the obvious - haha) and be able to halp me manage this bloody body - I am not even looking for a cure - just something a bit more manageable!!

Hope everyone else is hangin' in there....

Hi Silvermoon: So so sorry that you are continuing to suffer. Crohn's is a full-time job for you now. Really hoping that you do find some relief soon.

I'd also like to invite you and your spouse over for a meal if you are in the Big City one day and would like a break away from the hospital. My place is not a long drive from the hospital. Oooh, and I work part-time on campus, so I could also show you a lovely greenhouse -- complete with birds to visit with -- if you think that sometimes you'd enjoy having a place nearby to sit and relax. The greenhouse is usually empty, too, as students don't realize that they are allowed to go inside. (Or if you are not the social sort on hospital days, I can just send you a map to the greenhouse lol.)

Oi, you are going to be famous up there!!! I had a fistula through my left fallopian tube. MF that hurt!!! I sure hope they get you sorted out. I'm too old to need my 'lady bits', but you arent! Here's hoping they stop those nasty fistulas in their naughty tracks!

One step at a time Silver, you will prevail!!!!!

:rosette2:
HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGSSSSSSSSSSS

Big hugs for you. I hope this new GI and gyn can work to heal you. Glad to hear the fistulas are improving.

I hope the new doctors take good care of you and that you start feeling a lot better. Miss you Silver. :)

Heyyyyyy Silver, good to hear from you. Sure hope they will get the fistulas under control soon and you can go on healing.

And, new doctor faces are better than the pain of the darn fistulas .. no?? :)

Thanks for the update, Silver. I am glad the fistula is improving, but I am sorry you have to meet with yet another new doctor. But thinking positive - maybe they'll have the answer. Good luck!

Thanks Everyone :)

Entchen: I may just take you up on that offer! Hubby is the "flower" person in our family - I lke to sprout things, but then I get bored with them and they usually die  LOL! And, homecooked meals are definitely and infinitely better than restaurants - taste and tummy wise! lol. may get in touch with you closer to appointment dates and thank you SO much for the offer!!

Terrinut: lol I am sure there are some health care people in these parts that already think I am famous enough and would like to stop lookin' at my ugly mug too! LMAO!! On the good side of that issue - at least I don't have to go through what other poor patients have to - if hospital staff see me coming through the doors, especially if hubby is with me, they now know I am not foolin and I need help. As for my "lady bits" none of them have been used in so long I would have thought they would have all dried up by now! Either way, IF I am ever able/ready to manage children, there are so many wonderful children out there who need good homes, even if it is on a short time basis.....

Squishy Moon hugs for the rest of you.....

Me want Silvermoon back and healthy again!!!

As for lady bits....who needs em! But they are sure a proper pain in the ass when things go wrong arent they Silver! You just get well, lady bits and all. You are sorely missed round here young lady!!! Wish I could have you round for a cuppa and a caserole and a proper natter.

Want you well again...keep fighting!

Hey Silver!

It's so fab to hear from you hun! Great to hear some things are doing the right thing but a bummer if the buggers have settled in the nether regions! :eek2: You are well overdue for a break!

Thinking of you hun and hoping more than anything that everything settles down and you find peace and relief very, very soon!

:goodluck: AND :getwell:

Much love from across the pond mate, :Karl:

Glad to hear from you Silver...sorry to hear that you're still have some troubles, but I'm sure they'll sort you out! Take it easy and don't feel bad about being knackered...you've been through a lot.

Still thinking of you :)

Would be so pleased for the chance to help you stay out of that crowded Wendy's/Tim's with the 30 minute line-up. :)

It's good to hear that you are on the mend. I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!
