Starting with Uceris (Budesonide)

I've had Crohn's for 20+ years and was able to manage for the most part with Sulfasalazine. Late last year I began having terrible flares with severe cramping accompanied by diarrhea, which for the past couple of months has been every single time I eat. My last colonoscopy showed advanced inflammation (no surprise to me). My GI dr. has me on Uceris (Budesonide) for 30 days which will be followed by either Humira or Remicade. I was just wondering if anyone has been on this drug regimen and could share their experience so that I might gain some insight on what lies ahead.

I just started Budesonide myself until I could start my Humira again. From my understanding it will settle/control the inflammation some until you could start a biologic. It is very similar to Prednisone but with less side effects. I am only on week 2 of it but sounds like some do quite well on it. The remicade or Humira should give you some quick relief!! I have been on Humira 7 yrs now and I remember feeling so much better just a few days after my initial 4 shots. Same when I got my first Remicade infusion I felt amazing just days later but had an allergic reaction with second infusion so had to go back to Humira. Hopefully one of these will work for you and give you a much needed break!!!
