Stelara

Have had crohn's for a better part of 30 years. Only one surgery but another my be coming soon. Like most on this forum been thru tons of different meds had all the pain etc, etc.

Have another foot or so of stricture that they cant get by using scope. Been like that for 18 years but getting worse over time. Weird part is I starting having breathing problems about 15 years ago and was told I had developed severe asthma. Tons of asthma meds, problems breathing, turning blue, problems sleeping, cant breath fast etc. etc.

Well in the hospital a few weeks ago for breathing problems after a blockage and had many specialists come and check me over. Seems I dont have asthma. My vocal cords were damaged by the stomach acids from Vomiting.

They put on on Tramadol, ( half pill in morning and half in the evening ) and in two weeks im breathing normal again. No more coughing and wheezing. Weird.

Now on Stelara as I reacted to Remicade and Humira. Finished my 3 loading does and now on my 8 week rotation.

Interested to see if anyone else is on Stelara for Crohn's ? Have not seen any improvement yet but was advised it was to early.

Sometimes having crohn's just sucks but when I look at other diseases out there it could be a hell of a lot worse.

Long for a first post, sorry !!

Hi. I hope the Stelara works for you. There is also a section in here called Treatment and there is a subsection called Stelara. You can probably get some great help there. I love your attitude.

Hello and welcome to the forum

I hope stelera works out to be your wonder drug. I too have had a reaction to Remicade, currently waiting to see what my next step is but it will likely be humira. Stelara isn't widely used in the UK yet but you may find a good amount in the US.

If you haven't done so already, you can check out the Stelara forum here

Feel free to explore the forum further and I hope you find it useful.
