Hey guys been having this pee that stings and tingles when i urinate had a test for a urinary tract infection on the 7-20-2012 and it didn't show up anything.

I'm on remicade at the moment and nothing else just wondering if any other males have had this problem.

I'm not a guy (sorry ;) !!), but I have had urinary symptoms unrelated to an infection. My initial Chrone's experience was a classic Reiter's syndrome following 2 weeks of diarrhoea (in the old mnemonic "can't see, can't pee, can't climb a tree"!)
So I think the immune dysregulation of CD can predispose to other areas like eyes/joints/urethra acting up. Not sure how the remicade fits in..
Hope you're feeling better soon :)

Hi
Sorry, not a guy again but just wanted to help. I have had 5 bladder ops so have experience with this more than I care to mention. Please take another test as sometimes when you are on other meds it can take some time for bacteria to grow & show infections also dont just rely on docs using a dip stick test for urine, get them to send it off to grow cultures. Secondly, drink lots of water & even tea/coffee as you will flush out whats there.
Cranberry juice is great for bladder issues too so drink lots of it (even if you dont like it, try to water it down).
If its still going on please get a docs opinion as sometimes you may have other problems like passing a stone (yes I know they are usually really painfull but I know people who have passed really tiny ones that have caused similar symptoms to yours).
Apparently stones are yet another issue that people with Crohn's are likely to get so dont ignore this.

Did the doctor check your prostate. I am on humaria and get prostratis often. My urinalysis is good but prostate will be inflame. 10 days of cipro helps. Questions
Are you peeing frequent and burning. Difficulty starting flow or dribbling after. Also getting up in night

Mark74 I am sorry you get that I know its very painful.
My brother has it. I was going to try to get more info from him before I posted about it.
A lot of the guys that go to my urology clinic have it. I thought it was an just an age or meds thing but I am surprised just how many young men suffer from it. My brother was just 30 when he got it, no meds to cause it, just unlucky.
He has had surgery & isnt as bad now but its still there.

Nah no major problems like strarting or dribbling just sting sometimes when I have a bowel movement and need to pee also sometimes its a bit dark then next time I urinate its clear but still stingy / burning sensation

If you sometimes have dark pee mixed in - you should probably be checked for kidney stones too - if you have small ones forming that are passing they could cause the intermittent stinging....

Have you ever had air bubbles or any other strange things happen when you go?

A yeast infection will cause the stinging sensation. I had yeast, brought on by a fistula from my intestine attached to my bladder. Lots of other fun things once that bridge was complete.

Keep a close eye on this for any changes. Your doctor can give you a prescription for Nystatin if it is yeast.

Good luck

I had kidney tumor that was a carcinoma (cancer) 3 yrs. ago and had to have it removed. I have cysts on my right kidney too. So, kidney's must be affected by crohn's. I wasn't dxd till 8-11 but think I've had it for years. Many times of pain and diarrhea that were not normal. My sister would always tell me somthing was wrong with me. I just brushed it off. I had a colonoscopy becauses I had a stomach ache for 6 months in 2011 and sure enough, ulcers and inflamation in ileum and around=crohns.

I just had those same symptoms you describe plus having an overwhelming urge to have a bowel movement which is totally impossible since i had my ilieostomy in 1988. What the surgeon found was 3 cysts with one pressing against my urethra making peeing very hard and painful. Had surgery to remove those cysts this last june of this year. At this time all healed up no pain anymore. I do have trouble with the stream not being very forceful so was put on Tamsulosin 0.4 mg, one at night before bedtime

I took some pain killers fot a gut ache and the went to pee and no stinging go figure

I'm having the same problem. I went to the urologist today and he said it was an inflamed prostate. He put me on 1000 mg of cipro a day for the next month.
