Suffering

Hello. I'm new to this site. And could really do with some help. I've not yet been diagnosed with IBD but the doctor has said my blood results have come back twice during a flare up with signs of inflammatory. So I'm waiting to see a specialist but the wait is long. I'm going through one of my worst flare ups right now and I'm loosing all hope. I've lost over two stone in 8 weeks and now weigh 7.6 stone. I'm cramping with diarrhoea and also being sick 2-4 times a day. I can be sick on food or an empty stomach. I'm just so tired all the time and have now been signed off work for two weeks. My ankles are swollen and are quite painfull too. Is there anything I can do to improve my flare up as I'm so down and lost. The doctors don't seem to be that worried but I feel I dont have much more wieght to lose without getting really ill. What would you suggest? Help very mug needed.

I'm no nurse or doctor but I would say that you should take yourself to the emergency room and tell them what you've been dealing with. That seems like an awful lot of weight to have lost and so many symptoms of disease that it would be hard for them to say "wait it out". I am in Canada, I don't know where you are, but when I went to the hospital with the same symptoms, they were at least willing to give me prednisone and pain meds, while I waited for the specialist to contact me. That's what you need right now for the bowel issues and pain and swelling.

Thank you for your reply. I was starting to think that maybe I have deteriorated too much to begin to recover. I'm going to try with my doctor tomorrow as he was going to give me something for it last time and decided against it but hopefully he will this time. I'm in England. I also have a 2 year old daughter and I'm starting to feel like I'm neglecting her as we've not been able to go out for 7 weeks and my patients is low and poor her gets the brunt of it. Your reply has really helped me thank you :)
