I off today to aquire a new primary care dr.. Then I can get my refferal to the Oncologist. They tell me not to worry, but they seem to be in a rush to get there. After the oncologist visit I have to follow up with the gastro dr. again.

I figure by the end of our lives we could all be dr.s

Hang in there. No matter how many times a doc tells you not to worry, you will. But try not to let it ruin your day either.

I used to work as a pathology medical secretary (when you get something removed, they sent it to our docs to diagnose). I learned that if something even shows a glimmer of cancer, they rush you to see the specialist. Its customary. But it is also no need to worry yourself to death over it because 9/10 times, it was a false report, or something so totally benign. They are just trying to get you in quickly- just in case -so they can catch it early IF there is anything there and make your recovery quicker. That might be why they are seemingly rushing you while telling you all is ok.

Try to keep your mind off of things. Go find a new hobby, take a vacation if you can, do something so you aren't thinking on it 24/7. You will be ok. Think positive thoughts!! And altho you feel alone, you aren't. You have your friends here!!

Hey Steve

Hope it went well yesterday and you got your referral sorted out. I know it doesn't matter how many people tell you not to worry, you will anyway. So I just hope you get to see the Oncologist real soon so you're aware of what is going on. I think the not knowing is the hardest part of being ill.
