Well i have had crohns for 6 months now and after several failed treatment options My doctor told me 2 days ago that he could do nothing for me at the moment and that i should go to the emergency. I was stubborn told him i could take the pain and i promised id eat only rice, water and my vitamins but it just isnt working. I am having bloody diarrhea like 6-8 times a day, Feeling very thirsty 24/7 and feel like passing out sometimes when im on the computer so i guess this is it for me.

Im quite nervous and wondering what to expect when i go there. My dads going to drive me to emergency in about 2 hours on his way to work.

Absolutely it is time to go now! You are dehydraded and need iv liquids! Good luck, tell us how it goes!

It comes to something when ur Dr basically says they don't know what else to do. That must be really difficult for u. I hope u get further at ER and let us know how u get on. Good Luck!!!!!

Its been a few hours since your post and I'm hoping that you are already at the ER. The hospital is a scary place but it is the best place for you. i bet you will feel 10 times better when leave there.

Hey guys thanks for the support/info. I went in the early morning and was there for bout 7 hours and released in the early afternoon. Im glad i decided to go i was dehydrated and losing blood daily. It wasn't quite the worst experience but it wasn't very fun thats for sure. They gave me 3 IV bags while there and 2 medium doses of morphine which ended up making me vomit at the end (it was my first time on it), But thats really all they could do for me.

After speaking with 2 doctors there, They said i was a very complex case and they had to call in a GI and decide what to do. I waited for the GI for hours (my regular one is out of town) and he never ended up coming and the doctors ended up talking to him on the phone. He told the doctors to prescribe me a modified 2 week dose of prednisone and when my GI returns Monday the 2 of them are going to talk and make an appointment for me to come in next week to discuss what to do next.

So now i am at home resting and taking the prednisone and T3's (as needed) and awaiting the appointment. Not expecting much out of the prednisone but if it can reduce my bathroom trips i will be thankful.

Hi Swirlwind

Glad to hear that you are feeling a little bit better after your trip to the ER (we call it A & E here in the UK) and I really hope your Doctor can sort something out for you very soon.

*Big hug*
