Typical symptom?

Over the past week i have this recurring pain that comes from right hand side of tummy quite low and is quite painful and seems to spread up and go across just below belly button but is fine when i sit. Doctor said Ulcerative Colitis. Could this be just gas or something, does anyone else have this symptom? It also seems to happen when i laying down on my left alot.

I have pain there but I think it might be because I have strictures.
Is your doctor doing anymore tests to find out what the problem is? I think gas can effect anywhere in your body... how long have you had it for??

I had that...turned out to be severe inflammation in my colon. To me it felt like a painful sausage in my gut.
