Dear All,

I just came back from the hospital , fortunately at request after consulting with my new GI and not for an emergency. He decided that he wants to see with his eyes my disease ( if it is in complete remission like the other said ) and why i wasn`t feeling that great . Must say that before going to the hospital he gave me some little pills ( Epirax is the name , don`t know if it helps because they are produced in Romania ) and he said that if the problems are indeed from an irritable bowl or collitis the symptoms should improve...and he was right ...in 2 days my stools became almost normal and the abdominal pain was decreased rapidly...so he did blood work , an endoscopy and colonoscopy ...the blood work was good , the endoscopy was perfect and at the colonoscopy : 3 little polyps ( max. 2 cm all together , he said probably from the place where i had wounds in the past but no inflammtion in the area and the mucosa perfect normal ) and the colon looked normal, no inflammation, no nothing ...the diagnosis : inflammatory bowel disease ( the colon looking normal it was very hard to specify which kind , but considering the previous episodes, colonoscopies and biopsies and how well the colon healed leaving no marks he tends to think that is less probably that i have/had Crohn , more likely a colitis ) in complete remission clinically , biologically and endoscopic and irritable bowl .

So , after 2 years , 3 colonoscopies and 3 doctors ..the result is the same ...no activity what so ever ....he said that considering his experience and other patience with similar evolution , if everything goes well i might get lucky and not experience any more bad episodes ! Cross my fingers for that ! He actually put me off Pentasa ( i took 2 pills of 500 mg a day ), he saids there is no need to take medication ...of course there is the possibility that my body will reject the idea of being "normal ":) but if i have some episodes will manage it in duly time, but he hopes that things will go smoothly ...He only gave me Omez for my stomach ( 1 month ) and Epirax to protect my colon...And now, an interesting fact for you , it might help, it may not, but i will say it anyway ... i said that i joined a forum , that i spoke with people with IBD from America, Western Europe and the severe cases i seen ...fistulas , surgery after surgery , no remission etc etc ...and that is the reason i was so scared eventhough my symptoms were mild compared with others ..and he said it is very interesting how the disease manifests in Romania compared with other states , because he has never seen in all his patients any complication and that all of us here that suffer from IBD we are most of our life in remission ...compared with America and Western Europe where the disease is so severe ...he said that actually he has seen his first fistula in Holland , he has never seen before how severe the IBD`s can be...he said that in Romania, all his patients are living normal, 80 % pills free and visit him at 5 years in general for check up...and i said..how is that possible ?

and they said that he and his collegues ( i must say that the hospital it is actual The Institute for Digestive Illnesses and Nefrology - so they are specialized in this ) discussed this matter ..and the only difference that they seem to find is the eating habits ...we are not fast food fans , or Coca Cola or things like that ...he tend to eat since we are little cooked food ( from natural ingredients , fresh vegetables , meat ) , we eat almost every day soup and a meal called "ciorba ":)) i don`t know how to translate, it is like the soup but has vegetables and meat in eat and things like that ...i don`t know how this can be helpful for you, but it is a information, i got it, and why not , i said to share it because you never know ...What other explanation could be that here all cases are mild , no complications, no surgery , just some common diseases and you are confronting with this awful awful symptoms and problems ? Anyway , i wish you all good health and all the best ! Hope to hear only good things :) Hugs and kisses
