Hi guys,
I don't often post here, in fact, barely ever. But I'm off to Italy for study abroad (20, student) in 14 days and need some meaningful advice. I'm coming off a pretty bad flare up, possible fistula, and my doc, who doesn't believe in steroids, bumped me up to weekly Humira. It's helped, I'm eating again, but staying away from legumes and raw vegetables. But I'm still in pain, and my mom is freaking out because I look so sunken in and the circles under my eyes are pretty big.

How do you recover? While I'm on the slow road, what should I do?

How long have you been on the humira? I know it takes at least two weeks for me when I first start the injections for things to work properly, even with the start up injections. Maybe it's the same thing, you just need a few weeks to come around the curve?

lilwrite25, sorry to hear this. My immediate thoughts are find a specialist who believes in steroids. Ok there are many down sides but they do make you feel better fast. And if you haven't been on them before then it really cuts down the risk of Osteoporosis in later life if its just a short burst.
ref Humira there has been many success stories with it on here alone, for me it hasn't worked but that's not to say it wont for you, but back to your specialist he could have put you on a short course of steroids to just provide a quick pick me up while the Humira gets going.
Just my thoughts, hope you feel better soon.

Hey Lil, you might try posting this in the Humira club. Someone there may have some insightful advice. Good luck!
