What does this mean?

Hi everyone,

I like to ask a quick question regarding fistulae. My results came back that I have a fistula with no internal opening. What does this mean because I am confused as to why the fistula is leaking if there is no internal opening.

Thank you in advance.

Ask your doctor to be sure, but it probably means that they can't locate the internal opening (via MRI or whatever) rather than an opening does not exists.
