Your dose should be calculated at 2-2.5mg per kilo of body weight.

My daughter is on 50mg and her dose has never been adjusted as it was commenced when when was in remission post op and she has hasn't relapsed.

My son was commenced on it at diagnosis and he was 50kgs so prescribed 100mg.

Dusty. :)

Oh, and it does take at least 3 months, but can be up to 6 months, to become fully therapeutic.

I'm only on 50mg as the higher doses reduced my white blood count too much. It did work well for me at the higher doses but on the lower dose they have had to recently add in humira and still on Pred.
As Dusty says, it does take a couple of months at least to start working.

Did they ever try you on Allopurinol, in conjunction with the Aza, as way of keeping the dose low?

Dusty,
I was never given allopurinol. It's not common practice in the uk, in fact not sure if used at all in the uk. Not sure why.
