Crohns is incurable. With the affected parts removed, you will still have crohns which can manifest in other parts of your colon
 
remission after surgery is not guaranteed, but often occurs.

in severe cases, surgery is just another way to lower the inflammation in your body.
of course, since they cannot remove every inch of your small intestine, as far as i know, because you need to digest food and absorb nutrients to live, even after a large portion of intestine is removed, you could end up with inflammation in the remaining parts and need to suppress that as much as possible.
