DMSO Crohn's Success-PLEASE READ

I have posted before about DMSO.. just wanted to make sure that people are researching this. 100 % pure DMSO (purchased from a holistic store for $20) applied to my stomach and has pulled me out of a crohn's flare about 4 times now. I apply the DMSO liquid to my stomach and let it sit for about 20-30 minutes.. within one hour, the pain is almost completely gone! How is this working? I realize it may not help everyone but for me this has been a miracle! I have only used it when I start to flare. The results are usually within one hour. The best $20 I have ever spend. Good luck fellow Crohnies!

I also have experimented on myself with DMSO. I will say that it reduces some of my inflammation and has enabled me to go to work on days where I'd otherwise be very sick at home instead. It's not a cure by any means but does control my symptoms well.
 
Oh, and I have not experienced any side effects other than the "oyster" taste after topical application. It's not FDA approved for Crohn's...just FYI. Not sure if I have to mention that or not.
 
I have tried both. The Jacob's lab one has hardly any bad smell to it and is supposedly more pure. I just couldn't afford it anymore. Now I just use Natures gift in the gel form because the liquid gets messy and just runs off. I haven't noticed any difference in effectiveness.
 
So it's just topical? What about side effects and warning not to put on skin?

Does it just relieve cramping or fights inflammation?
 
does anyone know where in australia I can get the dmso gel and how do I apply it does it have to be diluted or can I just rub it on
 
Is this available in health food stores or only online? If its not easily accessible as a health aid I wonder how safe it is.
 
You need to be very careful using DMSO - and make sure you get it from a reputable source AND in as pure form as possible. Yes, it helps with inflammation - it absorbs into the skin - BUT - if you have ANYTHING on your skin such as lotions, etc it will pull that into your body too!

We would use it on horses legs to pull other topical treatments into the tissue - BUT we would also use gloves (NOT nitrile as they will DISSOLVE on contact with DMSO!) when handling it as it would absorb into your own skin. One side effect I remember was a garlic taste/odor.....
 
I prefer the gel, haven't tried the cream. 70%dmso 30%distilled water. I've been using it for over a year, no problems.
 
My ex-mother-in-law also used it for her bursitis and any other ailment she thought it would work on. She's over 80, smokes like a chimney...no side effects from 30 years of dmso use, the smoking on the other hand....
