    Yes you right, when you are well maybe you dont spend much time on a crohn's forum. However a lot of people here reported success on entyvio, while official data from studies show it's very effective (clinical remission) for like 50% of the patients. You can find data here...

    Entyvio should be much less systemic compare to infliximab as it only prevent some white blood cell to be activated inside the bowel, while anti tnf such as infliximab modify the inflammation mechanism in all the body.

    I'd start with azathioprin as it's easier to take and also the doctor advice. no need of infusion, nor going to hospital every 4/8 weeks which is quite annoying..

    unfortunately with this disease, you can have almost no symptoms with inflammation going on inside... that's why testing inflammatory markers like CRP or calpro is also very important as well doing scopes regularly.

    On aza you can have blood test every 3/4 months... it's fine. From my experience i've learnt it's important to follow good doctors advices, but you can choose to not take a medication if you dont want it...

    Why are you reluctant to take azathioprin? It takes almost no effort to take it... its a pill you take at home... ots relatively cheap... its quite effective... no need to go to hospital every other week to have an infusion in your arm etc...

    What do you mean by vedolizumab trial? It's aproved by almost all the health agencies so i guess yes the classics 1 to 3 stage trials are finished. They always study the efficacy of it compare to other biologics or steroids i think... maybe in combination with other biologics too... you could do...

    Hi hikerneil, Yeah you right it would be great if iron infusions only were the solution... What is your treatment now? I was in a similar situation 5 years ago with my hemoglobin that keep dropping every 2 months and i was scared of biologics so i was on azathioprin only... after my scopes...

    By the way i went from every 4 weeks to every 8 weeks, not every 4months... and my calprotectin went up... :( wondering now it it's because i need it every 4 weeks or i stopped responding to entyvio..

    Ah yeah i also did at least 2/3 iron infusions over the next 2/3 month after the bleeding. I guess it helped a lot.

    Yeah I was very weak too... and so anxious I would bleed again. Thank god all went well and i regained weight and energy after a month or 2...
