    Entyvio (Vedolizumab) Support Group

Hi guys, I have bad news from my last mri. The situation worsened in my ileum with stenosis tracts and possible fistulas or risks to develop it. They made me stop entyvio and highly recommend a resection surgery within 3 months. I’m a bit stunned, as i though I was going ok... this disease is...

    Short bowel

Understood.. it's shocking your docs and surgeon didn't alert you on risk of sbs before the surgery. Is there no way at all your bowel can tolerate normal food now?

    Multiple treatment options

Hi Gazpacho, it seems to me you have a mild disease so far, quite under control with azathioprin only or even without treatment... hard call to decide to start biologics in those conditions. I guess in your case i'd choose to stay with no treatment and get tested every 3 months with blood works...

    Considering Crohn's Resection Surgery

I agree with jbmouse, however i'd also ask your doc if strictureplasty is possible. That would mean remodelling your gut instead of cutting it, it's the new conservative aproach

Entyvio (or any drug infusion) timeline...

Hi BB3000, I've been on entyvio (every 4 weeks) for 1 year and a half I think it's not rare to have up and downs, especially when biologics have not fully kick in, like in your case. The action of entyvio is slow. Basically it binds the new white cells to be activated in your gut... so old ones...

    Start Biologics?

To find evidence of crohns in your small bowel you should do an mri scan. Then decide if go ahead with bioogics. However i'd trust the GI if he is 100% sure it's crohns..

    Help! Elevated liver enzymes.

I think you should very seriously consider to give him standards medication for crohn's. Symptoms are not sufficient to consider he is going ok. High inflammatory markers are not a good sign, he is probably not in remission... I have no idea if iver test are related to crohn's inflammation but...

    Should I panick?

Yeah i agree, i'd not pay too much stress on what's goin just after the surgery as your bowel need to recover too and it will take time. I'd not hesitate to call or send a message to the doctors... they may want to adjust your diet or give you some advice/drugs...

    Short pred taper

You need to be very carefull using prednisone as using it in the wrong way could unregulate some mechanisms in your body. So yes taper down usually last two months, but it also depend on how long you took it before i guess. And i think it's not a good idea to get it randomly for a single day use...

    Halloween Prednisone Nightmare

Wow what a battle! I'm sorry to read that. Are you doctors considering to move you on biologics? Steroids souldn't be a long term treatment, and biologics should work almost as well as prednisone..

    Halloween Prednisone Nightmare

For how long you'll have to be on prednisone? I also had difficult time with it.

Everytime I eat I have to use the bathroom so I dont eat anymore

It's not normal altairego. Remicade should have helped with those symptoms.... you should ask your doctor if it's the case to change medication or do something else. In the mewntime you can try elemental diet ike modulen ibd. Your body need nutrition to heal. There are no definitive proofs scd...
