What led up to your first resection?

Love the username, happy poo poo. :) I'm so glad Remicade is working for you. I'm optimistic. Nervous but optimistic. It's heartening to hear you can eat fiber again. I'm sooooo looking forward to a big salad - some day!!! Thanks for your reply.

What led up to your first resection?

Thanks, Daisy. I know that's what I've read, but my GI and my surgeon both say it's okay. It's so confusing at times. Dave, I completely get what you say about being vigilant but not paranoid. I really hate that I'm apparently not a good judge of what's going on in there. One night I'll...

What led up to your first resection?

Seven surgeries is crazy. I'm so sorry, Daisy! And now another one? What's your plan to get in remission and maintain it so you won't need another one after this? I'm currently on azathioprine and will stay on that with the Remicade. My surgeon says the latest studies don't show any...

What led up to your first resection?

Good luck to you, as well. I hope the Imuran helps.

What led up to your first resection?

Dave, what a way to learn to have Crohn's! Are you doing well now? I just bought a nice Omega juicer. I love it so much. It feels great to be putting nutritious food in my body once again. I look forward to the day I can eat normally again. I went out to dinner with my mom tonight and she...

What led up to your first resection?

Thank you all for sharing your stories with me. It is immensely helpful. I was so overwhelmed at first but I feel like I have a plan now: be diligent with my low residue diet and give the Remicade a chance to work. If the a Remicade doesn't get the inflammation under control, find another...

What led up to your first resection?

Wow, momofthree, it's terrible that you've had to have two surgeries in such a short time. I'm glad to hear you're feeling well now, though. How did you know it was time? Were you making trips to emergency? I've been on Imuran for seven years. Thought it was working okay. Actually, I...

What led up to your first resection?

Thank you both for your replies. Of course you are right. I don't want to end up with a medical emergency. I've just been having a hard time wrapping my head around all of this. And then I'm also anxious and scared about starting Remicade. I'm hoping the Remicade works and allows me to...

What led up to your first resection?

Obviously having issues. In too much of a hurry! I need to figure out how to delete posts.

Oops, I realized I put this in the wrong place and moved it. :)

What led up to your first resection?

Hi everyone. My GI doc seems to think it's only a matter of time before I need a resection and why wait when I'm having pain and other symptoms of a partial blockage. He referred me to a surgeon but the surgeon wants to wait and see how I do on Remicade first, which I'm starting in five days...

    Let's get silly!

Hiking trails with benches to lay down on about every fifty yards. And, of course, the previously mentioned bathrooms.

    Strange lump on forehead

Yeah, I'm not really too concerned about it. It was just so strange that I didn't want to entirely dismiss it as meaningless. Thank you.

    Strange lump on forehead

I woke up to a gnawing hunger at 1:00 last night and noticed I had a jellybean sized knot on my forehead above my right eye that wasn't there when I went to bed. It was hard and unmovable, didn't hurt, didn't itch. There was no sign of a bite or scratch, no bruising...just a big, hard knot...

    What does remission feel like?

I have seen that, Ian. That's funny. I'm so glad you're in remission and you feel normal. That's great! I'm starting Remicade soon. I'm scared to death but hopefully it works for me and I'll feel normal, too. I appreciate your reply. :)

    What does remission feel like?

Hi everyone. I was diagnosed with Crohn's seven years ago after many years of symptoms. Since getting on azathioprine I'm much better but never 100%. A couple of times a year I get a bad flare that lasts for several weeks, but mostly it's just bloating, gas and general discomfort. Usually...

    Rash while tapering off Prednisone?

An allergy to a medication can happen at any time. I would definitely call his doctor right away for advice. I retread and saw you've already called. :)
