Starting Skyrizi next week.. need some support and some questions

Based on my 1 year experience with Crohns in my terminal ileum, what I can say is that there is a clear difference for me in terms of food / eating patterns that make me have symptoms after consuming them (diarrhea, bloating, pain) and food / eating patterns that make my inflammation worse...

Starting Skyrizi next week.. need some support and some questions

I dont think you have to take anything specific for ulcers - the best shot at healing them is by lowering the inflammation. For me CRP has consistently been at the lower end of 0, even at a clear flare, but Calpro has been to 2000 at its highest, and is very sensitive marker in my case. The...

    I am now in remission

Wow, you went through a lot, respect for fighting and keeping your chin high. You have a lot of options to try, in this thread we are talking PKD / carnivore, but also consider other options such as CDED, SCD, or even EEN if you feel like you are going into a flare. I am a huge believer in...

    I am now in remission

Thought I will check in to say that 5 days ago I have started the carnivore diet. This was after my almost-keto SCD wasn't able to get me back to a good enough calpro level the second time after I cheated on it in August, and I was experiencing very loose stools, calpro rising again, and felt...

EEN makes things worse - any advice?

Thanks everyone for your responses. I did a typo above - I wanted to say that my staple diet when NOT on EEN included a lot of fat (the one that worked). For those of you who mentioned your kid did EEN and had liquid stools most of the time, how long did it last? One thing is liquid stools but...

My 12 year old son has just started Humira...

I face a very similar situation with EEN, basically any formula I try, I go on to have liquid diarrhea, posted about it here: https://crohnsforum.com/threads/een-makes-things-worse-any-advice.87362/#post-1052556 did you ever figure out the solution to this riddle? maybe liquid in liquid out and...

EEN makes things worse - any advice?

Hi! Some of you know my journey and struggles already, but I thought I make a clear post about it, in the hopes of someone being able to offer guidance, or professional I could turn to. 28 year old male, diagnosed with ileal Crohn's 2022 December, at that point colonoscopy findings as well as...

    I am now in remission

Pretty good result, shows that the effort of dietary intervention was worth it but also reminds us that the path is long and it's about changing our life style to one that is more sustainable for us long-term. I have started Dec 2022 with 400 on diagnosis, creeped up to 1200 until February, when...

    Calprotectin level after stopping Remicade

I thought I would mention that the Specific Carbohydrate Diet has some really good results for both Crohn’s patients (including myself) and autistic kids. Might be worth a try if another biologic is not an option. To Maya’s comment about her kids crohnie friend - in hindsight everything is...

    I am now in remission

Keep us posted on how your fecal calpro + MRI will look once you get them! Curious to see how it all will turn out. Being without symptoms while maintaining a well-nourished state is definetly a great sign.

Cool! Btw, did you have elevated blood inflammation markers before? Strangely, for me they were always consistently normal, even at the middle of a flare. Do you also monitor fecal calpro? In my case, that is the most important marker.

Also, to react to a specific point, the fact that this diet is low fiber may be a plus rather than a minus - if you think about EEN, that has great success rates, it also has no fiber in it. Some actually theorise it might be a main mechanism for it's success. And yes there is diminished...

    I am now in remission

I think it's good to be a sceptic and challenge anecdotal stories, given how insidious Crohn's can be. But if this has given OP significant relief from his symptoms, and also lowered his inflammation markers, I think it's absolutely great that he posted it, as it might help many others too. I...

    (My Story) Looking for answers!

Specific carbohydrate diet, but a restricted version of it at the moment, very close to keto, as I dont seem to tolerate any fruits or milk very well either.

    (My Story) Looking for answers!

Just to add to what I wrote above as I see nerve issues came up. My Crohn’s is in my terminal ileum, and bit more than a year before my diagnosis, I developed fasciculations (muscle twitching) that got to a point of 2-3 muscles twitching almost every second of every day. I am pretty sure my...

    Budesonide and constipation

What did the GI recommend? I heard from a few people Magnesium Citrate in the right dose could help their constipation. But at this point, you have constipation for a week right? Perhaps a visit to the ER would be warranted if your next no-prescription idea doesnt work. Better to tackle this...

    (My Story) Looking for answers!

This is exactly why you should stop googling and get help - such as the cognitive behavioural therapy that helped in my untreated health anxiety before. Lets take the above one as an example - without any medical knowledge or context you take a phrase out of the radiology report and start...

    (My Story) Looking for answers!

I had ongoing neurological issues bit more than 2 years ago, had EMG just like you did, found minor abnormalities but also in general cleared of serious neuro diseases. My neuro was convinced I have metabolical reasons for my symptoms but couldn't find anything on blood tests or elsewhere to...
