Feeling defeated today, please tell me it will get better

It's so difficult agree with what's been said get a second opinion and specialist centre. Lucy was just turned two when she was diagnosed and it took a while to find something that worked - I think there is an element of trial and error with very young kids. We agonised over biologics but it...

    Youngest daughter in a flare

Hi Kimimidwife, so sorry the injection is so difficult, I remember when we started giving it to Lucy she used to cry and cry, but it does get easier and I think once an improvement can be seen in symptoms the child realises its for their own good. Hopefully you will be able to get the less...

Think I Need to be talked down.

Thanks, went to gp who insisted on gi referral anyway given the family history, so we see him in a few weeks, in the meantime all is good with Evie, constipation is under control and no more blood. Started giving her a probiotic as her gut is probably a bit off after the antibiotics she had for...

Are you sure he has it? ARGH!!

Oh I feel your pain, just put it to the back of your mind along with all the comments about diet and other peoples need to tell you about their minor bowel issues as if they understand crohns. This just demonstrates a total lack of understanding of a very complicated illness in children, and...

Another year older and a new Dx.

Oh Farmwife so sorry to hear that - this happened Lucy with remicade but it happened a lot earlier, I think her third infusion, so they like you waited an hour and slowed it down and it went in ok, it happened again on her next infusion, it was so scary and it happened within minutes of it...

    Combination Therapy, too risky?

As others said maybe ask about Methotrexate/biologic combination. Lucy is on Methotrexate and humira and while the potential side effects are enough to keep you awake all night every night, it really has allowed her to live a normal life. Talk to your GI and get all your questions answered...
