    First Neurologist Appointment!

Thank mlp. We've been given list and journals and symptom journals. Nothing stands out yet with foods. But I hear ya and getting allergies later. I got a dairy allergy in my 20's. Not happy about that! 🙄

    First Neurologist Appointment!

We've done the magnesium but not with the b2. Grace had been run thru the gamut of allergy testing but it has been two years. So...... As far as food testing my only other idea is with docs permission of course; switch her back to EO28 Splash and take food away for a set time and add the foods...

Seeking suggestions - writing a book for kids with IBD

Hi and welcome. My daughter was dx at 3 but it's now 9. As far as a book. My daughter doesn't want her illnesses to define her. We've raised her this way. I'm speaking for myself and not other parents. As her parent we try to carry most of the burden of decisions and if we could we'd take...

New with Crohn's child and 2 otherd

Welcome Are you the primary caregiver? It sounds like you have your hands full. I've heard it happen both ways. My daughter was tube fed for a long time. My son (non ibder) had food limitations himself due to allergies when he was younger. So not much help here

    Common cold and Remicade

Not for Grace. A fever over 100 is the only reason for us to cancel, per our rheumatologist advice. Now there was a time where her cough was so deep but no fever that I decided to push it back a couple days. Paranoid it could go into pneumonia because of her asthma.

    Daughter's headaches (not crohns related)

Lol, I just updated Grace's headache thread. Sorry no real advice. We're still trying to get hers under control.

    First Neurologist Appointment!

Just an update. Grace meant with the new neurologist for her head aches. We've tried Topamax. Didn't work. Now on Pamalor for 2 months. No big help but keeping the big ones away. Tried Botoxs injections. Worked but only for two weeks. Waiting for the 3 month mark to get the injections at a...

    Capsule Endoscopy

We had the same experience. Her first Gi was no good for us but a life saver for another child in this forum. We stayed simple because it was closer. I'm glad we did because her new Gi (of 4 years) is great. Hugs

New Diagnosis of IBD in 12yo daughter - 2nd opinion advice and Tamiflu question

I second what Maya says. It's better to go slow. Have you looked into EEN as a bridge thereapy? Sorry if I missed it.

    Humira vs Remicade

We did both. My girl was 5 when we tried humira. She did the shots because she didn't have a choice. She was on it for 5 months before the doc changed her to Remicade. 4 years later Grace remembers hating that shot.

Mom w/4 yr. old w/ CD.

Hi and welcome and the warmest of hugs. My girl was dx at 3. She just turned 9. She's been on Remicade for 3 years. I bulked at the drug myself. However now I worry about the day it'll stop working. Scic told you above very young onset of Crohn's is a beast unto itself. You have to treat it...

    Help with appetite

That would definitely be a red flag to rgi. Like MLP said, they're supposed to be gaining even if it's just a little bit. My grace never had much of an appetite either but she never put on much weight but yet still stayed the same, so doctors overlooked it until we got the scope and found...

Horrible! I've been paranoid about us getting it. I pray A gets better quick!

Just realized it has been 7.5 years since diagnosis!

Yes, the first week we were warned there would be a lot of ups and downs. Than we were warned that week 3 was the hardest on patients and their families because the pent up feeling and loneliness would hit.

    H's Brother

Sorry about his dx but he has an amazing mum! As to calories. Grace is 71 lbs and almost 9 (this Sunday). On full EEN she needs about 8 boost boxes. However, during a full fledged flare, I don't think she can do boost. Not broken down enough.
