They can receive SSI (Supplemental Security Income). That's what I've been getting since I was around 14 years old. Apply at your local Social Security office.

Inability to Absorb B12 INCLUDING Injections

Not that I'm aware of. My CBC was all normal. I've never done the The Schilling test, looks like a lot of guess work and unfortunately some unnecessary antibiotics. I wonder why this test isn't all that common anymore. The treatment for it though sounds very similar to what my GP tried doing...

Prometheus - What has your insurance paid for the test?

Some labs charge a fee for it. One charges $30 where I live. The last time I had it done though I wasn't charged a lab fee, it was a different lab. As for the test itself I don't pay a dime out of pocket. I have Medicaid.

Oh my cheryl888, that's awful. :( Any chance of getting your endo to step on it (the research that is)? Crohn's can definitely cause absorption issues and you've gotta have those meds to make sure that the cancer stays away. I can understand why your GI is reluctant but that's a double edged...

    Disability/Unemployment/Financial Difficulties Support Group

I'm surprised that someone from the CCFA would say that. Was it just a random person from their forum or an actual member from the CCFA? While in a way they may have a point since it can be really difficult to be approved, it's a bit harsh and not really helpful. :( Are you able to go to your...

Inability to Absorb B12 INCLUDING Injections

I have taken sublingual B12 before I tried the liquid since the regular tablets did nothing. They didn't help either unfortunately. I don't see it listed on this lab order Catherine. I'll have to ask for that to be ordered as well.

Inability to Absorb B12 INCLUDING Injections

I had forgotten about the nasal spray. I'll mention it to them. With Pernicious Anemia it mainly mentions absorbing B12 in the ileum but doesn't mention about absorption issues with the injections which also bypass the digestive tract. That's why my GP disregarded it.

Inability to Absorb B12 INCLUDING Injections

As of right now this thread does not have much information. The purpose of this thread is to figure out what would cause someone to not absorb B12 injections. Both my GP and GI do not understand why my body doesn't seem to be absorbing B12 in injection form. I've been getting B12 injections...

    I almost killed myself

Hi everthin and welcome to the forum! :) I've been to teaching hospitals as well many times but I never had a bad experience. They do have professors higher up that they answer to and who make sure that you're getting the treatment you need. There are many doctors out there who are worth seeing...

    My painful Story

Oh geez, I'm really sorry. :( Women are just as capable of being abusive. One of my sisters can be as well when she drinks and I've heard of plenty of other women doing the same to guys I know. I hope she'll be able to get some help. You have to want it though for something like that. No one can...

    Cheapest Pentasa?

Everyone please remember that it's not legal to get prescriptions from other countries so please don't share any company names or links to online pharmacies. Thank you! From the FDA: "Many drugs obtained from foreign sources that claim or appear to be the same as U.S.-approved drugs are, in...

Can I use Appetite Control Capsules?

DM96 I'm very sorry if you feel that people were being rude to you. We're all here for you. I haven't taken weight loss supplements myself but certain medications can increase your chance of gastrointestinal bleeding like NSAIDs etc. So maybe that's why it suggests to not take it if you...

The Immune Response and IBD - Video by the CCFA

This is a great video that talks about why certain treatments seem to work for other people yet not everyone. If you've ever had a hard time understanding why some treatments for IBD work for others but not you even if you have the same symptoms and diagnosis then hopefully this video helps you...

Postpartum Polyarthragia? In a lot of Pain - Ankles, Feet, Hands, Wrists, Spine - Is This a Flare?

She hasn't quite gotten a diagnosis or relief yet. She did see a podiatrist but I believe they said it has more to do with her back so they didn't do anything and I think she's going to see a neurosurgeon about her spinal test results from the MRI she had. I believe there was something wrong in...

I'm sorry you went through all that. *HUGS* My husband was also sexually abused when he was around 5 or so by a teenage boy and that was actually the beginning of his PTSD. I can't even imagine how horrible that would be. I'm so sorry. You guys need a serious break, having to deal with all these...

MAP drug trial, does anyone know anything about it?

Wow JennyT. Your GI seems to be very negative about it. There really isn't a set date for when the disease will be active again. For instance my resection was back in 1999 and it put me into remission and I've been in remission ever since. 17 years and counting. There are others on the forum who...
