    7mm semi-sessile polyp in 20 year old

Thanks so much for this Information! I will definitely discuss this with him and see what he thinks. I don’t think he is a huge drinker like his older brother who I hope slows down when he graduates in May! College years are trying with health conditions since that lifestyle tends to be so...

Polyp in 20 year old - crohns x 7 years

Thanks Cross-Stitch Gal, I am curious why you think the polyp is pre-cancerous before the biopsy results? Is it because of it's shape or simply that most in people with Crohn's is pre-cancerous? We will speak to GI after the biopsy gets back and asked for a sooner appointment than February...

Polyp in 20 year old - crohns x 7 years

Hi Everyone, A nervous mom here...just got back from scope and overall Crohn's in pretty good control with only mild inflammation in proximal ascending colon and moderate inflammation 15cm proximal to anus (going to ask about a suppository for this area) so it appears increasing Stelara to...

    7mm semi-sessile polyp in 20 year old

He was on MTX for a long time (solo) and did not want to take it while in college due to effects on the liver. I wish he did and didn't drink, but I can't really make that decision for him. I also think it could have larger health effects on his liver if he is on it and continues to drink. He...

    7mm semi-sessile polyp in 20 year old

Oh and I forgot, he increased to every 4 weeks in April so it has been about 7-8 months.

    7mm semi-sessile polyp in 20 year old

Thank you for the feedback and for tagging some other parents. I was wondering if I should re-post this elsewhere. I hadn't thought of the enema option. We emailed his doctor today to ask about enemas and about the polyp in someone so young. We will see what he says but I may also ask about...

Has anyone ever had Cdiff with Crohn’s?

My son was dx with Crohns at age 13, got C-diff during finals of his first year of college treated with 1 round of Vanco and then pred because it caused a big flare. He then went on biologics for the first time after that to maintain control....Stelara. He is not 2 years out from c-diff and...

    Humira v Remicade

The human body remains a mystery. I am always hopeful that we will someday figure out why certain meds work for some and not others .

Little Penguin...glad your son is doing well on Stelara!

Thank you for your input! What are your girls taking now? It is certainly a journey of trial and error!

    Humira v Remicade

My son is 20 and it appears that Stelara is not doing it for him. They upped Stelara to every 4 weeks and it only lowered FCP a bit, then added in uceris and FCP went to 20. We hoped that the increased dose of stelara would then kick in and we will get confirmation from his FCP later this week...

How long does it take Stelara to work?

Iron stores can take a very long time to get back up even with mucousal healing. Also, my son's GI said that it can take 6-9 months for Stelara to reach its maximum effectiveness so it may be too soon to know if Stelara is doing all that you need!

How long does it take Stelara to work?

How long have you been on every 4 weeks? Did they test you for antibodies and Stelara levels before increasing your dose? My son was increased after showing low Stelara levels and no antibodies. 3 months later is fecal calprotectin was lower but not great. We added in an 8 week course of...

Change Meds, Add Budesonide or Wait Longer?

Doctor felt FCP was trending in the right direction but did hope it would have been even further improved. Thinks it is reasonable to continue 2-3 more months and re-sched FCP at that time. If the same/worse at that time, look to change meds. Thought adding Uceris was a good idea for 8 weeks...

Change Meds, Add Budesonide or Wait Longer?

Thanks for the info on Uceris and enemap/suppository. He was followed closely by an endo because his only symptom of Crohn's initially was growth failure and he was on growth hormone injections for 3 years. He has done entecord 2-3 times but only for 8 weeks each time. That is what we were...

Change Meds, Add Budesonide or Wait Longer?

We are going to email his GI tonight and wait to hear what they say about the plan. My son wants to just do the Stelara and re-test FCP. If it were me, I think I would do the 8 week course of Uceris or maybe some sort of enema/suppository, re-test FCP every 1-2 months and continue on just...

Change Meds, Add Budesonide or Wait Longer?

Thanks for the input everyone. My son would like to give the increased dosing of Stelara a try because we just changed this 3 months ago and re-test FCP in 1-2 months. We are going to ask about Ucerus for 8 weeks but may not do it and just see how STelara does. Probably switch to Remi if not...
